Hi OperatorCactus, I´d still like to know what the latest update did and whether all issues are solved now. I just travelled to all major cities, and most of them were missing your guards, however, the gates were locked. I´d really like to use this mod but need to be sure it works as intended. Thanks!
Thanks for your answer, I think I´ll just go forward and test the mod in a new game and hope it works. Normally I spend some time around Whiterun before I travel elsewhere...
I am on save 600 on my current playthrough with over 40 Form 43 mods and have 0 problems. The form 43 anxiety is a relic of the early days of SSE modding and times have changed.
Skyrim and Skyrim SE are two different games that use different record structures. What are record structures you ask? Here is a simple explanation. It's irrelevant if you are using them and say you have no problems. You do but you are just unaware of them until you become aware of them. The Worldspace placed object 0003BE8B "SolitudeDoortoTower" (MineDoor01Load "Wooden Door" [DOOR:00037CFE]) does the location reference from SimpleTolls.esp matter? Or can I let the location reference from Solitude Docks override it?
The door is set to a default locked state by simple tolls. This is not vanilla behaviour. Therefore, overriding that record would revert the changes I made, permanently unlocking that side door.
this is fantastic! i'm a history geek, lol, and i've tried to get a mod that does this before, but they usually had huge compatibility issues because they added dialogue to the gate guard. this is such a simple and elegant solution <3

The toll guard is at Whiterun but when i talk to him i get
1. Greetings (Speechcraft)
2. Could you escort me to a place im looking for? (5 Septims)
There's no option to pay the toll, also i can just walk through the gate without him stopping me.
Any idea?
A way to freely access the city without the speech check on becoming Thane would be excellent :)

EDIT: I suppose if you owned property, you would already be Thane in most holds. Though, I wonder about mod added houses.
