Update: 2/26/23. Version 1.2 now includes better antlers for mounted deer heads. A huge thank you to GGUNIT for allowing me to use their fixed meshes from Wall mounted dead animals fixes. If you use their mod (you should!) please overwrite GGUNIT's mesh when asked. Be sure to give GGUNIT some kudos!
Update on the reindeerpelt.nif: I've changed the fur to be lighter to be more in keeping with the vanilla pelt. I've also made sure there is white fur visible as noted from photographs of actual reindeer pelts.
Still a bit more work to do, but the reindeerpelt.nif will hopefully have a download available soon.

Update: 2/8/23. I've uploaded an optimized version of the deer pelt. It's a standalone file containing all the textures and the mesh you need. I managed to reduce the polycount by about forty percent. A small amount of detail is lost, but it's minor. If you're looking to save on draw calls this may work for you. As with the previous file, please download and overwrite with Xtudo's textures if you'd like 2k or 1k textures for the antlers.
Update: Antlers v1.1 now includes deerskullhornsprop.nif. You can safely overwrite version 1 with this one. 2k and 1k textures for the antlers are also now available in the optional files section. Many thanks to Xtudo for updating the nif I missed and for the optimized and reduced textures!
Dynamic Things Alternative meshes are now available in the Optional Files section. A big thank you to Mur4s4me for these! I've included the main mod's 4k textures in the download in case you'd like to just download these as a standalone mod. To use 2k or 1k textures with these simply overwrite the mod with Xtudo's optional textures.
Update: I've added an optional download of a new Deer Pelt. Check out the pics for more info. Many thanks to Flash2Pirate for suggesting the idea, and a huge thank you to Xtudo for allowing me to use their mesh and textures in the mod! Be sure to give them some kudos!
If you download the hide and are asked to overwrite the antlers mod, you can go ahead and overwrite.
Thanks for downloading and checking out the mod! A lot of people helped and offered updates and advice. Please check out their mods and give them some kudos for their help.
I love you! My game loves you! I lived in Wyoming for a while and actually got the chance to help a friend feed elk off the back of a horse drawn sleigh. Those moose scoops are a travesty!
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/89680 Or did you mean male elks? That's coming soon. I've had a tough time getting the antlers right.
It needs more work, but I've started on the reindeerpelt.nif. I've made it bigger than the female elk pelt. I may increase the size of that antler too.
Yep, that's absolutely a possibility. So far, I've done the elk and am working on the reindeer pelt. After those, I may see about other animal pelts. Probably bears first.
I know this might be a lot to ask of, but could you try to add some fur shell on the mounted head and the Deer Pelt mesh? Something similar to Bears of the North, just toned down? Love what you already did with the meshes.
I know what you mean. I use Fluffworks for my deer and other animals. Once everything's finished, I'll take a look at some shell texturing for the mounted heads.

No, it's just antler meshes and textures. They're the same and so it's fine to let either overwrite the others :)

I've got a bit more work to do on the UV and the Male Elk pelt, but hopefully, I'll have a download available next week.
Can you also make a version of the reindeerpelt.nif ? It's the pelt from deers instead of elks.
Can you also include this mesh too?
