    RASR now works in VR! Here are the instructions:
    1. Download and activate the main 'Random Alternate Start Reborn SE.esp' (Do not install the 'Temporary VR Fix yet)
    2. Set 'bLoadVRPlayroom=0' in skyrimvr.ini manually or using Bilago's VR Configuration Tool. This will temporarily disable physical sneaking.
    3. Start a New Game. After spawning into the world, save your game, exit.
    4. Set 'bLoadVRPlayroom=1' in skyrimvr.ini manually or using Bilago's VR Configuration Tool. This will restore physical sneaking.
    5. Install 'Temporary VR Fix' and let it overwrite the scripts from the main file.

    Alternatively after step 3, you can keep the VR playroom disabled and use Shizof's Auto Sneak and Jump VR mod? which allows you to physically crouch to sneak without enabling VR Playroom.

    Having problems with this mod in vr, even though I didn't used to. Just did a clean install of Skyrim and SKSEVR, along with a handful of basic VR mods and put this one last in the load order. (I made sure to set bLoadVRPlayroom=0 in SkyrimPrefs.ini first.) The game pulls up the character creation menu even before I select a new game. And when I click the "Press any button" option it just shows the main menu waterfall area even though clicking buttons I can hear options being selected, and my player avatar is where I'm standing. Tried uninstalling and re-installing it all again, same problem. Is there a known fix for this? Again, this mod used to work fine in VR for me.

      Hi there, please make sure you're editing the correct SkyrimPrefs.ini. You could be editing the wrong file, especially if you are using a mod manager. The best way is to use the Skyrim VR Configuration Tool: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16242

      The exact same thing is happening to me. Have tried disabling the playroom via the skyrimprefs.ini and the mod organizer 2 ini editor. Hasn't changed anything so far.

    I have been trying to install this mod many times over and over again. i follow the steps very carefully. I install the RASR, using the VR config tool i search bLoadVRPlayroom and make the value 0. i then launch the game through the community mod organizer 2 because thats where all the mods are stored but when it loads in i see the character creation screen with the banner "Press Any Button To Start" over top it and then you press a button the character creation disappears and you see the vr playroom with the waterfall frozen. if i play around with the buttons on my controllers it will select the nord race in the background and create the character and will actually load into the game however when you load in you cannot save the game or open your inventory. however if i launch the game through the config tool the game brings me to the base load screen but no mods are installed because of how the mod organizer works and when i create a new save it brings me through the vanilla start. not sure what im doing wrong but i will try and install this mod through vortex since it writes mods into the games dir.

      soo i tried to only have ussep, skyui, and RASR loaded with vrplayroom turned off and i guess it overwrites it somehow but when i went through vortex and installed RASR and launched it works. thing is i want ussep and skyui and the rest of my mods and i dont want to use vortex. think im going to just install whatever racial mods i want through vortex, create a character then delete vortex mods and load in with all my other mods...

      I FIGURED IT OUT, if you are using the community mod organizer 2, you need to go into the ini editor there because it has a backup ini save and will use the backup ini instead of the one in your my games folder. select skyrimvr.ini and if you dont see-
      [VR]
      bLoadVRPlayroom=1 or 0
      -add it at the top and set it to 0 and save. Have your mods how you want them with RASR installed and bobs your auntie just fixed the overlapping issue.

      Having the exact same problem, the ini editor doesn't seem to fix it for me.

    Had to reinstall my game, it worked fine at first, but after applying the fix, I'm only getting black screen when trying to get into VR menu room :/

      Please check the sticky above, it sounds like you need to set bLoadVRPlayroom=0

    It is absolutely possible to uninstall this mod mid-game. The quest Before the Storm won't show up but you can meet Balgruuf and continue the main questline without a problem.

    I needed this info and I'm glad sharing it.

    I cannot progress past the 'press any button' screen with this mod enabled. Only thing that works is pushing trigger, which will just confirm the default Prisoner

      I am having the same issue. Character creation screen opens with "Press Any Button". After pressing a button, it goes to the standard starting area and prompts for a name, presumably. After selecting or changing it, the game seems to freeze.

    Does this mod need to be updated to work with the GOG release of Skyrim SE? I can't get it to work at all.

    Not compatible with Footprints Mod. Footprints doesn't work, if installed.

    Can anyone tell me whether the game will nonetheless spawn dragons (at nests/word walls) before I investigate Helgen or are they 'disabled! until then by the mod?

    Hello,
    Why do I need the fix and bLoadVRPlayeroom=0?

    Just downloaded the mod as it is and everything is working in VR - on HP Reverb G2 at least.

    No CTD and no bugs.

      Hi I would also like to know how the physical stealth setting is preventing the start from working properly. I haven't tried it yet but I know how to change the bloadvrplayroom=0 or 1 settings - I am just puzzled as to why this would make a difference - are VR players in sneak mode automatically at the main menu? Or is it that you need to use the same thumbstick down movement to navigate the menus correctly? Also in simple terms what does the Temporary VR fix actually do?
