My JSON file for Mysticism overwrites the old one, so all the other spells that I didn't included doesn't get patched, so I need to remade the whole spells list for Mysticism which will take awhile, as there's a lot, so delete my copy for now, until I completely redone it.
Mysticism JSON is complete, which also included any changes to vanilla spells that Mysticism touches, like changes in perks and addition of new scrolls for vanilla spells that don't have them.
Hello there, you mean Bound Battleaxe is meant to be adept? Because the only change to vanilla spells I made is the ones through Mysticism, which does set it as adept.
Hi, i can't launch the game with this mod. i load this before the synthesizer but it keeps crashing on game launch. I'm trying to make a couple of patches for "KittyTails" mods and think i got "Winter Wonderland" finished but i can't test it. I Don't know if i'm being stupid and missing smthng obvious or not but i'd appreciate some assistance
Hey there! I am unfortunately very unfamiliar with the technical aspect, so I might not be the best one to help, but I can try. Did you run the Spell Research Synthesizer patch after you made the patch? Also it seems that they are references to FLM dll and Mihail's Ogres & Ettins, so check whether your FLM is up to date and maybe disable the Ogres & Ettins mod to see whether that will help. You can also ask on the Spell Research Synthesizer patch itself, they might have a better idea to point you in the right direction.
Ok it's something about having "Mihail - Ogres and Ettins" enabled while patching the synthisizer, if i disable it then patch i can reenable afterwards and it works fine
sorry i may be an idiot but do I need to run synthesis???? for this to work or just install this and Spell Research Synthesizer and call a day because it works out of the box????
if I do need run sythesis what .synth scrip do i need to run so confused lol
Figured it out not the easiest thing to get working lol the guys over on the spell synthesizer need a work instruction
Happy that you figured it out. But yes, this is meant to be used with Spell Research Synthesizer which is a patcher that need to be run through Synthesizer. Then re-import through the Spell Research MCM.
I am not actually too sure what the Synthesis esp do, I personally always keep it on. You can't open your inventory because it CTD? Yeah, it's most likely because a tome that was updated and thus replaced, so the copy you have don't exist anymore and thus cause CTD (as far as I know, I don't know the exact detail). The only way is find some way to remove the tome or start a new game. =/, sorry I couldn't be more help. Do you by perchance use the setting where you replaced the tomes with books that can be read and give you experience instead? Because I think that might be causing the CTD (I don't use it personally because of mod incompatibilities).
... what was the setting called i didn't see a setting that says to not convert the books to exp books i think??????
Also i did turn off the mod that was made via synthesis after importing and it seemed to retain the attributes for spells from Derniis spell mods.
although there may be long term issue but i dont know yet..
worst comes to worst turn mod off dump all spell books and turn mod on again??? this mod is pretty light weight and shouldn't break much of anything by turning it off saving and turning it back on again.
In the Spell Research Synthesizer's settings in Synthesizer (just click it, and the header should be next to versioning at the top), you will see all the different types of spell level - like novice, adept, etc. tick off process for all 5. This will disable the conversion of spell tomes into books.
Thanks you so much for this! Anything to help skip Spell Research importing when starting a new game is great in my book. Any chance you could add the spells from Wounds, specifically the healer and spell add-on? They're the last remaining spells I have that aren't part of the synthesizer.
Mihail has just recently released a new 2-in-1. There's one spell. You've already covered the standalone version, so do you want to add a new 2-in-1 version JSON to the pack?
(Asking because I'm making a collection of JSON files for Spell research on my own, inspired by you, and about to be released. I feel it'd be best if you take this, as yours has all of Mihail's mods already; but if you're busy etc. I could do it as well, though I still prefer yours :D )
Hey there! Yeah, that one is already done, just need to test some other jsons before I released the new update. That's great! Will definitely have a look once you release your collection.
my game crashes when i speak to a trader who sells tomes. I guess the good news is the tomes themselves have changed and do work with spell reserach but it seems like they conflict a cause a crash when in a merchants inventory. Any idea how to fix this? fresh saved seemed to fix the issue but sadly i do not want to restart my game.
Oooh, I think that happened to me once, were you using the tome replacer function of the Synthesizer patch? Where each tome is replaced with a book that when read instantly gives you xp? Because I think that happens because you already applied the patch previously and updated it again, which might break something. Maybe try resetting the merchant inventory if that helps, because I think the crash is caused by a spell book that isn't there anymore.
ok so i made new save but when i go to compose a thesis it says insufficient writing material even though i have ink paper and quill and enough magika. Also when i got to analyze a spell its says "spell in hand does not follow spell architecture". am i missing something here? OMG i had the wrong quill. I went in console command and gave myself different quills and it worked.
Have you reimport through the Spell Research MCM? Whenever you update with new patches, you always run it through Synthesizer first and then reimport through the MCM ingame, that usually does it for me. What spell and from what mod did you try with?
That's great to hear. =D Every archetypes for spells I picked by hand, unless there's already a patch for it - like on the Spell Research Patch compendium mod, then I usually follow those instead. I use the mod pages to get an understanding on what the spell is and try to attach it's archetype to it. If I am stumped, I usually follow vanilla spell archetypes for similar type spells. And I also used some of the other JSON that other people made previously as a baseline. Most of the mods don't usually have that many entries so quite easy to churn out, and Darenii's spell mods are similarly structured so I can copy paste from previous JSONs and just change the elements and such.

(Out of curiosity: How did you generate / identify the archetypes for so many spell mods? An xEdit script? Or all by hand?)

Unfortuantely there might have been a small bug in that copypasting process; I just reported in the bug section :)
