    Q: My game crashes when I...
    A: Fix your load order. It does not crash on a fresh installation without any other mod.

    Q: The courier does not give me the letter.
    A: You can skip this step by using the console command: "setstage CastleGonduin_Curse 5".

    Q: Where is the steward?
    A: The steward is in the main hall of the castle.

    Q: The steward does not have any dialog options to rebuild the castle.
    A: Quicksave (f5) and reload (f9). He should have the dialog options now.

    Q: Will containers within the player home respawn?
    A: Neither the containers nor the cell itself will reset. Other interiors like the tavern or the forge may reset though.

    Q: Can I move my childrin/family/9000 followers in?
    A: No. If you want that feature, add it yourself.

    Q: The wraith is to strong! It killed me with a single hit!
    A: "If they're too strong, then you're too weak."

    Q: Is this mod compatible with <insert random mod>?
    A: I don't know, just try it. Reported incompatible mods: Helgen Reborn

    Q: Can you add this little feature: <insert random feature request>?
    A: No, this mod is finished.

    Q: I don't like Riverwood. Can you move the castle to an other location?
    A: No.

    Q: I am a Stormcloak, but the letter says it comes from Jarl Balgruuf, who is dead?!
    A: Deal with it. I don't care about your precious immersion.

    Castle Gonduin - Expanded SSE

    First of all I want to thank DarthWayne for his great mod Castle Gonduin.
    It is one of my favourite player home mods and imo the most lore-friendly castle mod.
    At first I started modding it for personal use but it soon became quite a project of mine.
    Some time ago I contacted DarthWayne, showed him some of my work on Castle Gonduin and asked for permission to release it to the Nexus.
    Now finally Castle Gonduin - Expanded is ready for release.

    - solved a script/dialogue conflict causing four vanilla trainers not offering training anymore
    - added new stoneobject to serve as steps at door to main hall
    - wrong chest in blacksmith home swapped to right one
    - one object which should have been owned is now
    - added clutter & static objects
    - added missing exterior windows
    - added missing interior windows
    - fixed roofpiece/wall clipping
    - fixed a few gaps in exterior cells
    - fixed z-fighing in exterior cell
    - fixed havok settle issue

    - includes a fix which should solve the issue of SSE savefiles being named & categorized wrongly

    - solved an issue which made the Khajiit caraven leader not sell anything and only buy wedding rings

    I tried my best to stay true to DarthWayne's style.
    Castle Gonduin - Expanded is essentially the same mod, leaving over 90% of the Castle's appearence as is - just trying to make it appear a little more polished and alive.

    There are a few new chests with equipment (potions, torches, scrolls, arrows,, etc.) inside towers/baracks which will respawn and are not safe for storage. Inside those you will find lore-friendly notes as a warning.

    Recommended Plugins:

    - There is also a small addition of more trees I made to the Khajiit camp. Get the esp here: More trees at Khajiit camp
    - I use Castle Gonduin as home for a bunch of custom followers with My Home Is Your Home - It has enough space to accomodate them.

    FAQ:

    Q: Standalone?
    A: Standalone.
    Q: I already have Castle Gonduin SSE. Do I have to reinstall Castle Gonduin - Expanded SEE with a clean save or something?
    A: Yes. You should do that. You can try to enable Castle Gonduin - Expanded and disable the original SSE port. I do not recommend that though. You get an option to not do the quest from the courier if you do not want to play through it again. (Do not forget to get your stuff in containers and on display out.)
    (If updating from a pre v1.005 version follow instructions in the Readme. You should use five console commands because of two NPC-class changes)

    Future plans:

    I have one or two more ideas I did not have the time to realise (e.g. barricaded new door in Watchtower basements) yet.
    There are three minor lighting issues which to resolve would need a complete interior lighting revamp in three interior cells.
    Maybe there will be updates in the future. Not promising anything.

    If you find a bug like an out of place object while you play the quest (play the quest - very nice quest) report it to me please.
    But there should be none. I was very tired while doing the final tests.

    Known issues:

    Castle Gonduin - Expanded ist still incompatible with Helgen Reborn. Install only after you played through Helgen Reborn's story - the parts with Upper Embershard Mine at least. You can also tcl your way in there or use coc aaaBalokMine01.

    There are two minor navmesh glitches I did not manage to solve completely. I tried my best.
    When a guard in the keep suddenly stands between two trees and stays there (happens very seldomly) just push him back on the road by running into him. xD
    Sometimes when talking to the steward for the first time after the quest the dialogue menu won't open. Save and reload if that happens.
    SSE only:
    - strange issue with shadow casting on battlements (being looked into)

    By far my favorite home mod. The location is great. The size is not small, but it is not too big either. The design is immersive to the world of Skyrim. I would love for someone to take on the task of updating this mod and adding additional features like a baking oven, and beds for children.

    I don't know if this might help, but i suspect curriers actually travel from the places they get the items from. You can also run to the gates of whiterun and hangout until the guy appears

    Tip: If your using ultimate flying. Do not fly over the castle, it will skip the courier quest and skip the rebuilding objectives from the steward. Very annoying to learn.

    I wish this mod wasn't abandoned or forgotten about. It's probably one of the best castle homes out there. 

    It has a few texture problems, ground seam bugs, spouses don't sleep, and it doesn't work with hearthfire. Also, not sure if this changes the path up the mountain, but npcs from other mods sometimes walk into walls or stand in the middle of the castle before continuing their journey.

      And it sounds like that is the author's intent, a real shame I remember it being pretty good on Oldrim

    Is there some way to just get rid of all the dogs, they seem to all actually lack death animations which make them fundamentally unavailable even with console commands

    whatever atmostphere the main hall could have is ruined with Joy's incessant barking and just deleting or disabling the entire bark soundfile is a half fix

    I use this mod almost every time I play through Skyrim when I get that random urge. Just want to say I appreciate the work that was put into this one.

    It too bad this mode cannot be brought into the Helgen Reborn quest line as the final player house and the quest in the castle be the final quest for Helgen.  This is one of the best houses, and those quest line against the Elves could be expanded for Helgen Reborn.  Both are incredible mods, but you have to install this one after you are done with Helgen Reborn.  Its just too bad something cannot be worked out.  Something close would revamp that entire side of the map.  I am not a modder I just use them and many of them.  Also that leitch seems to always stay in the thrown room even after it is dead.

    Should be something like the attackers on Gonduin are the Thalmor not random bandits.  I it is while you are ther but on triggered but random.  While you are gone people could get captured and taken to the prison from Helgen Reborn.  Set up time for events in MCM.  That would create an entire new world for the game.
