I really love the spellsword character archetype. Something about mixing weapon and spell just makes me happy. I wanted to use this archetype to introduce some much-needed diversity into Skyrim's bandit enemy lists, and finally see more instances of bound weapon users.

DISCLAIMER: This mod is in a finalized state, and will not be receiving any further development. This was meant to be a singular project to add one new archetype to bandits that I really enjoyed, and I ended up loving the process so much that I made a full overhaul for bandits after this. If you want to continue using this mod on its own, please feel free to do so. However, if you would like to see additional new variants and a complete rework of all of Skyrim's bandits, please check out Lawless - A Bandit Overhaul!

Description:
This mod adds new Spellsword enemies to bandit mage leveled lists. These warriors supplement their combat skills with magical power, forcing players to protect against both blade and spell. Spellswords are balanced to be a mix between the melee and magic bandit enemies, using perks for both physical and magical playstyles. As you encounter later tiers, these enemies even use new bound weapons.

Enemy Details:
  • Argonians - Axes, Poison magic, healing magic, and defensive Alteration spells
  • Bretons - Swords, Shock magic, and defensive Alteration spells
  • Dunmer - Swords, Fire magic, and defensive Alteration spells
  • Nords - Maces, Frost magic, and defensive Alteration spells
  • Enemies use appropriate Mysticism spells and Adamant perks

Balance:
I attempted to keep their stats as in-line with Vanilla conventions as I could, but there is a lot to be left to interpretation given the exceedingly few instances of weapon and spell enemies that we have. These enemies will scale their magical power slower than pure mages, and lack the Extra Damage perks given to Vanilla melee enemies, so their raw strength will be generally lower. However, their ability to cover both melee and ranged combat, as well as their versatility, make them fearsome foes.

Installation:
This mod should be safe to install at any time. I do not recommend uninstalling this at any time during a playthrough, and will be unable to provide any troubleshooting assistance if you decide to do so.

Compatibility:
This mod edits Vanilla and Dragonborn Bandit Mage leveled lists, so you will likely need to patch for any other enemy mods.
