13th March '23 Update: Meshes for all the cairns with parallax enabled are now available in the optional files section. I've made a parallax texture to go with them, based on Majestic Mountains mountainslab01 texture. I'll upload that in the optional files section, too. If you use a rock texture mod other than Majestic Mountains, let me know, and I'll see what I can do about making you a parallax texture. I hope you enjoy the update!
Update: Optional download 1.3b is an alternative mesh for Cairn01 without the small stack of rocks shown in pic 5.
Update: 1.3 reworks the shape of Cairn01. It's now more in line with the shape of the original cairn. That should fix the issues with floating banners. The collision mesh also fits more closely without needing to be adjusted. I've classed it as an optional update as you may prefer the shape of the Cairn01 from 1.2 and not mind the issues with banners.
Update: We made the hot files! A massive thank you to everyone who's downloaded and endorsed the mod! I'm currently working on the evil cairns. They're done except for the blood stains. I think the splatters look terrible in the vanilla game, so I'm trying to fix that. In the end, I'll probably offer a version with blood and one without.
Version 1.2. Decreased the amount of specularity on cairn02, cairn03, and cairn04. If you were finding them to be too shiny, that will now be fixed.
Version 1.1. I've decreased the number of branches in each mesh to further optimize the mod.

I think this might be the issue you're having. Make sure you use 1.3 from the Optional Files section. Aside from this, I've not seen floating lanterns and I use this and Lux so it's possibly another mod causing your problem.
Hello FrankBlack, I hope you're doing well. My name is Lex and I'm a modder/porter that plays on xbox. I'm a huge fan of your work on fixing and making better versions of skyrim's meshes. You and other authors like you are honestly a godsend to the community. Once I notice a blocky edge or octagonal post, bad UV mapping or whatever other myriad eyesores exist in vanilla, I can't unsee it, you know? Lol.
On that note, A year or so ago I started working on putting together a massive merge of mesh (and some texture) replacement mods for xbox one players like myself and uploaded it to bethesda.net. We (used to be) limited to 150 mods so merges were (and to some degree still are) very important for xbox players. We recently got .esl support so that's no longer as much of an issue. Filesize is though so its best to merge to limit the amount of wasted space from overwrites.
This is a link to the bundle. It includes the work of many talented authors here on nexus and I hope to make it even more comprehensive going forward.
I'm currently working on an update for this mesh improvements bundle I mentioned and would very much like to include some of your mods in said bundle. Would it be alright for me to do so? I would of course credit you as the original author of these mods/assets and provide a link to your nexus profile alongside a list of all of the mods of yours included in the bundle description on bethesda.net. This upload would also only be uploaded for xbox players so the files are inaccessible to PC through bethesda.net. I don't upload to PC beth.net, just xbox.
For what it's worth, I'm interested in including several of your mods concerning your improvements to architectural, clutter, ingredients. I don't have a comprehensive list of what I'd like permission to include but I can make one if you're open to this proposal. Primarily though, I'd like to include the cairns mods, all the fluffy pelts/hides and mounts (all the fluff really, i just love it) that you've made, various others like the bird's nest replacer, etc. If any of these mods utilize assets from other authors, I would seek their permission to before using your mod if their permissions aren't open already.
I am sorry for the length of this comment but I wanted to be clear about everything upfront. I hope you are open to allowing me to include your assets in this bundle for xbox. They would be great additions overall that I think xbox players would enjoy, myself included.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you. Have a good day and do please keep up the great work fixing skyrim. ;)
Hi there, that sounds great. So long as the mod remains free for Xbox users to download, I'm happy for my meshes to be included. Feel free to DM me with more details or any questions :)
Hi. The description of parallax 1.2 version in main files said that I have to pick a 1.3 version, so I'm a little confused. What files should I choose and in what order install?
Install 1.2 (whichever version you prefer) and then scroll down to grab one of the 1.3 updates. Also, you don't really need 1.3 and so I've kept it in the Optional Files section. Here's a bit more info on that 1.3 update from the sticky post:

Does this replace your Slightly Better Rock Cairns or do I need both? I'm just asking because MO2 says it is redundant with this mod installed...
EDIT: Sorry, wrong mod. I had both open at the time. Does this get replaced by your Slightly Better EVIL Rock Cairns or do you need both? Same redundancy issues...
Hi there! You need both (this and EVIL rock cairns) installed as they cover different meshes. If you install the parallax update, though, you don't need the old version of this mod.
Yes. If you already have a parallax texture (mountainslab01_p.dds) from another mod, the new cairns will use that one. If you don't, let me know and I'll see about making one for the rock mod you're using.
Thanks! ra2phoenix is right, only Cairn01 really varies in shape, and so (I think) clutter should be fine. If you see anything out of place though, please let me know and I'll take a look at it. Thanks for checking out the mod!
Thanks for the optional that better matches cairn01's shape and collision; I preferred your original shape but floating items and invisible collision isn't ideal.. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the little embellishment you added on one side (image 5), I feel that a stiff breeze would knock that over..
If I had the modding skills, I'd make those small rocks havok objects that you could pick up and stack. I've been tinkering on the mod today and will upload an alt version without the smaller rocks so people can choose which one to install.

Yep. The rocks will use the textures you have installed. Just be sure to download the non-parallax version of this mod. Enjoy!
