IMPORTANT: After you select your preferred look in the FOMOD, make sure you select the correct patch if you use AI overhaul, otherwise you'll get the black face bug. If you're not using AI overhaul just select ''none''.

For some reason the AI Overhaul patch breaks the replacer for me. When I install the replacer (long-haired) with the AI Overhaul patch (long-haired), Saadia appears with her hair in a bun and with my default skin. However, disabling the AI Overhaul patch makes her appear as she's supposed to with this mod. Am I doing something wrong?

the ai overhaul patch might be outdated, please dont use it until the patch gets updated. Using the replacer without the patch wont break the game but Saadia wont have the behaviors added from AI overhaul.

Saadia an interesting character, which side of the story is true?.

Nice work on the character makeover.

I never felt right tricking a defenceless girl into a human trafficking trap as that is pretty much what the game makes you do with Saadia and anyway there is a good bit of loot in that cave and on the Alik'r so?.

Fact: if you give her to Alik'r, they won't take her to Hammerfell. Instead, her coffin will show up in Hall of the Dead. Meaning, they murder her on spot and throw the body within the Whiterun city guards reach to pick up.

In other words, she's telling the truth all along.

Now how did I never stumble on that I used to play this game far too much, nice to learn that and you have not only corrected me on that but I could think of a few websites that would have egg on there face if they knew that bit, as a daughter of house Suuda or however you spell that the Thalmoor would surely have taken her into protective custody if she had been there ally anyway and of course a bunch of elite assassins would likely have been hired to kill her if for example another house wanted the last survivor of house Suuda out of the way so there are several reasons she might be murdered, still before I erased my far too long comment as it was I wondered if perhaps she was a part of a larger quest that Bethesda cut such as one that would have featured in a possible hammerfell DLC before they decided not to do such a thing as I could imagine your choice having consequences in any such now lost questline, she always felt unfinished like there was meant to be more to her character.

That's just a bug or oversight of a game mechanic. I think it happens with other NPCs that "disappear" too since they are removed from the game.
It also makes no sense for them to kill her. If she is killed by the player, Kematu will say, "All that effort, and you just kill her. You've ruined everything."

At least she's not accosting and threatening every Redguard-looking woman in Skyrim.

I never liked the prevalence of this take. There are a great many characters in the game who never show up in a Hall of the Dead after dying or being otherwise removed from the game, yet Saadia does. In a world full of story and choice and lore, why attribute to lazy game dev what can easily be seen as consequences of one's choices? The long and short of it is if you work against her, Saadia dies - contradicting what you're told. It doesn't have to make sense from an external perspective - most murder is illogical from an outside perspective. I think there's a lot more to the story than the game gives us (personally, I think they both think they're telling the truth, but an outside element is manipulating them, which results in Saadia's death).

Well you also forgot this part:
It also makes no sense for them to kill her. If she is killed by the player, Kematu will say, "All that effort, and you just kill her. You've ruined everything."
If they were simple ragamuffins or even hired assassins from the Thalmor-controlled city, they wouldn't be showing up in fully decked out gear, announcing their names and stations, at the entrance of every city, walking through and asking the guards and everyone who will listen, for her, by name. The only time they're even remotely cagey is when you immediately respond to their request with : "Why are you looking for her?" In a still uncontrolled land where opinions of the Empire and much more the Thalmor are contentious at best, naturally they would try to damage control with monetary incentive, without spilling the beans about the state and affairs of their houses and the fact that unfortunately, their city is in fact Thalmor-controlled. Hard to swing that "We're definitely not Thalmor-hired assassins" story when you lead with "We're from a Thalmor-controlled city, but we're not here to kill her for speaking out against them or whatever she'll tell you. Our houses actually were still able to send us to take her back to be judged for selling us out to the Thalmor, in a Thalmor controlled city's court system." Legislatively it's not actually crazy at all, but try selling that to the average citizen of Skyrim of all places, in the heart of a civil war.

Saadia by simple virtue of timelines and well her story having the least amount of hoops you have to jump through to make it true; Ockham's Razor the principle of the simplest answer being the most likely one is the best one.
Also Kematu and his mercs are the only ones actively breaking laws; I mean seriously what kind of person asks you to kidnap someone and then when you refuse tries to kill you, not to mention hides out in a cavern with bandits. In my honest opinion the Thalmor involvement both are lying and using that as a way to garner sympathy, in reality Saadia is likely a political exile who fled Hammerfell after some dispute with one of the two factions in Hammerfell the Crowns or the Forebears being a member of one of the two. Also the whole Tanith bit doesn't pass the smell test from a timeline perspective but also because the A'likr are not from Tanith they are an entirely different group of Redguards so you'd expect Tanith to send their own forces instead of hiring mercs.
Basically both have something to hide but Kematu I don't trust as far as I could throw him, the guy is a mercenary and he is breaking a number of laws, namely attempting to kidnap someone but also cooperating with bandits which is a crime and considering that he gives his side of the story once all the bandits have been killed I think honestly he's trying to save his neck.

I tried "Saadia's body weight has been changed to 100, (If there is a visible neck gap use console command setnpcweight 100 , then follow by disable and enable to fix face morphs.) to fix neck seam, but disabling and then enabling NPC caused a crash to desktop. Don't know what to do

Wow, this is a stunning replacer, thank you so much for this!

I noticed that despite having weight 100 in CK she shows up in game with her vanilla weight. Not a big problem as I could fix it with console.

However I have a different problem that I hope somebody could help me with:

I tried to make a patch that is dependend on this mod to give her a custom default outfit and set her to "essential". When I load that esp along with this replacer her head shows up differently kind of vanilla-looking.

How can I change her default outfit nd make her essential while keeping her face?

In case it wasn't mentioned (I couldn't find any mention of it in the comments), there's typo's in the FOMOD.
Long Hair has Short Hair Description
Short Hair has Long Hair Description
This causes a bit of confusion with the next part of the FOMOD because if I select the Long Hair with Short Hair Description and then Short Hair AI Overhaul Patch, I get a Black Face. If I select Short Hair with Long Hair Description and then Short Hair Description, it says I'm missing Short Hair.esp Masters.
Trial and Error can get things situated I think but def a little confusing. Solid Saadia Overhaul though, probably my favorite :)

Endorsed. Just one question though, did you edit the short hair textures? If so could you point me to how? Thanks!

Incredible remake, thank you for this!!  She looks stunning!  For some reason her scar doesn't seem to be showing up completely?  Regardless, still very happy with the mod!

Having a problem where she looks like her default appearance. I had installed another Saadia replacer before this one, which is now removed, though even after starting a new game without it, Saadia had none of this mods changes. I tried installing all the mods you credited to see if that would fix it, but she still looks very vanilla.

I am using a different CBBE skin texture (Diamond Skin) than the one credited and have tried reinstalling on new games, but no dice. If there's any help you can give me or an idea of how I can fix this, I would appreciate it.

I have the same problem. First thing I finished her quest and she became a companion, her head reverted to default. I've also been having a problem with the AI replacer section saying that I don't have Immersive Citizens installed, when I definitely do, even when I put it before the Saadia AI mod after it in the load order. Not sure if the two are related.
