At first I was not convinced. but then i tweaked things with imaginator and now ... wow !! a must for non-enb user Matter of fact all of Paraphernalia mods are !
I was fortunate enough to have Gav share this reshade with myself before he published it here on Nexus, and from the moment I added it to my game I knew I would not be using any other Reshade again. I told him that he had something truly special here and I'm really glad he chose to share it with the Nexus community.
Lustre makes me feel ever more immersed in the world of Skyrim. The liquid lens effect when you get close to a fire makes me feel like I can really warm my hands on it. The subtle god rays playing through the trees when I walk through the forests makes me think I should probably put on some sunscreen. All these little additions simply pulls one deeper into the experience.
The screenshots really do not do this reshade any justice. It can only be appreciated in a VR headset. I see some questions regarding the "light ring" visible in the screenshots and I can assure you that, in my setup at least, I cannot actually see the ring. The effect is very much pronounced in the screenshots, but in the headset it is much more subtle and just so happens to be my favorite part of Lustre.
In my current mod list I use Lustre in combination with Cathedral Weathers and Seasons as well as Imaginator and I am very much pleased with the results.
Any tips to get this workign with Mad Gods Overhaul 2.51? I love Community Shaders running via OpenXr. It's the sweetspot but I really miss and NEED the godrays. I am not technical so if it can autoinstall via MO2 or some direction on where to put files would be really helpful. Thanks DD
OpenXR I am sure doesn't support Reshade. The files go in your Skyrim .exe folder and I think you'll spend a lot of time trying this to find the God rays won't work and OpenXR will give you double vision.
It would appear so. Reshade DLL can be finicky to get working so rather than trying to get Lustre and Reshade working initially, be sure your game recognises and activates Reshade to start.....then it's just a case of dropping this preset into your game.
I've been trying to get this to work alongside Mad God's Overhaul but something in my load order seems to overwrite and remove all Reshade files from my Skyrim VR folder. I believe I installed correctly per the instructions here. I'm pretty inexperienced in all of this so hoping someone might have an idea what could be doing this? I've tried removing all of the following at once from the Mad God list and the overwrite/wipe of all Reshade files still happens: community shaders, effects, lighting, weather, NAT, and a 'cleaned master files' option
Would greatly appreciate any help as this looks great and I'd love to try it out
If Mad God's uses Root Builder, that will be the cause. At that point you'll need to install Lustre as a Root Builder mod, which I don't use however Google should walk you through it
I started downloading these Paraphernalia mods the other day and I noticed I started getting white edges around my display, for both eyes. After toggling mods on and off I think I managed to pinpoint it to this mod. I think this mod looks stunning and I really wanna keep it, but the white edges are killing the immersion for me. Does anyone know how to tweak the settings to turn that off?
I was messing around with the settings on Imaginator, but none of them seemed to fix that specific issue for me. I was searching around and saw some ENB mods were experiencing a similar type of problem, and some of those had their own solutions, but I couldn't find anything on this mod. I don't think it's a bug, I'm probably just a noob and don't know which settings to tweak to adjust it lol. If anyone knows what it is and how to get rid of it, I would really appreciate the help!
For some reason, when I activate this mod it turns the background outside of the rendered display from black to white with an added glow. As soon as I delete it, it reverts back to black. Any ideas on what might cause that?
Went purposely looking to try and re-create this so as to help you - it's Magic Bloom shader in the preset, reduce your intensity. I'm looking at releasing an update to Lustre soon....final tweaks etc
Hi! I love the mod and I've been using it since I found it, but is there any way to reduce how much white surface reflect light? I mention white surface specifically, because most of the time the effects are subtle enough, but even the text from the menus in SpellWheel VR are bright enough to trigger godrays which is quite annoying. I really like the godrays and liquidlens effect, so I don't want to reduce their intensity too much across the board, so is there any way to make the effects less intense on white surface only? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Thank you and yes, in the Reshade menu, reduce the MagicBloom intensity.
A word of warning - make a note of any values before you change them as there is no undo button and getting back to your original values can be a real pain in the Reshade interface. Another option is to take a backup of your Lustre.ini before you begin making changes.
This may be a dumb question but I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere: If I'm using a wabbajack modlist (say Minimalistic Overhaul for example) do I still place the files in the main skyrimvr game directory you described (eg. \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR) or does it go somewhere in the Minimalistic Overhaul folder?
Since Minimalistic uses Root Builder I think it would be best to read that mod info and/or ask Hitman himself as I'm not 100% sure and don't want to give bad advice.
That said, I see no reason why the Reshade DLL should go anywhere but the main game directory, that's how Reshade gets detected and launched. If that is so, then the Lustre files would too go in their recommended (standard) location.
Thanks Gav ! apparently wasnt googling right. Ill try this ;) EDIT : Renaming DXGI.dll of RESHADE to reshade.dll didn't seems to load Reshade. BUT Renaming it d3d12.dll or d3d11.dll did the job !
I'm not particularly familiar with Re-Shade presets, and I realize this is very clearly for VR. However, is it possible to use this or easily convert this to work with non-VR?
See bottom of description page....just a matter of swapping out the dxgi.dll for the SE version....to tweak do scan read all of the description notes and the posts. If you get something working great, please let me know and we'll package it up in your name and share on this mod page.
I swore I looked for a comment about if SSE was supported in the description, but I guess I must have missed it. Anyways, thanks for the response.
I'm still too busy making mods in order to actually craft a modlist and play the game, but if I get around to that ever, I'll see if I get it working and let you know.

Well done Gav.
However, the recent version still doesn't have any effects for me, did I miss a step?

"can confirm that if you rename the dll of vr perf toolkit to `d3d11.dll` then it works in combination with reshade..."
I was looking to combine perfkit with this reshade.
Will test some more later and update if it is indeed working !
Endorsed + voted !
EDIT : if game is not lunching try the dll inside the folder x86 of vrperfkit
Reshade uses DXGI.DLL just like VRPERFkit does BUT the code within is totally different.
Keep VRPERFKIT as DXGI.DLL and rename the Reshade .DLL to something else....try Reshade.DLL, there's several topics on this via Google.
I can confirm that if correctly setup you can have DLAA, ENB, Lustre Reshade and VRPERFKIT all working together nicely.
