thank you for lots of good words and support from you. Even though there are Nexus peeps like you, that make one want to create assets and share them, there are also guys like the person that reported this mod to the staff, just because they didn't like the mod or me directly, or even because anything else.
The staff was very professional answering this report and we had a brief chat. But I just want you to know. Every such case makes me want to publish mods on Nexus less and less, and I'm not the only modder that feels in such a way.
Since it's four years since I launched my Patreon, I decided to update the public Accessories Pack.
1.6-beta [ESL] UPDATE:
- Black Hat HDT Added - Black Top Hat Added - Black Top Hat Bent Added - Red Top Hat Added - Red Top Hat Bent Added - Green Top Hat Added - Green Top Hat Bent Added
A "hero" can only do conversions if allowed by the author. The deleted user was just being rude, especially being the mod a "beta" and kindly uploaded here for FREE. No mod author have the obligation to make modifications on original content for the specific taste of A, B or C, especially regarding bodyslide conversions (I will not even mention bad conversions that simply destroy the original shape of outfits and accessories and the view of the author about their own content).
Nexus offers benefits to mod authors, especially those trying to make money on patreon...we no longer live in a world where mod authors make mods merely for artistic expression..this mod acts as marketing for the author to get views and then cycle people to their patreon. Authors also receive benefits from nexus. and both authors and nexus recieve benefits from nexus customers and subscribers. So it is perfectly fair for a nexus purveyor to point out that the author could and probably should convert their clothes to a body that 95/100 skyrim players use...maybe they aren't aware of 3ba, bhunp, and even newer bodies, and mod users might be confused by the fact the author is apparently the only clothing maker that still uses vanilla body. Stop acting like mod authors are some benevolent creator like ages past, most if not all are looking to make money. Which is fine and fair.
Well, if you guys are trying to say that donation points are an actual payment for modding...
Making a working hat model from scratch usually takes about 30h to complete (not to mention the time needed to create the idea). The whole accessories mod gave me last month $2 in donation points. That's about 6 cents per average working day. This way, if I wanted to develop the Accessories mod only and profit from Nexus... nope. I say that the mods here are still for free - I would get 24cents profit for making the hat mod.
As for Patreon the situation is indeed better, you can get a couple hundred per mod (I make one mod per month there), but:
1. You don't get this amount for the first couple years, because you have to reach your audience first by doing heck a lot of promoting to get the page running (and if you're not doing it 24/7, you can easily fail). 2. Besides making mods (modelling, texturing etc.) you also have to host the community by spending even more time on keeping in touch with your Patrons and gamers around.
Let'a say that you could get $20-30 gross per day out of your Patreon. When you're a parrent to a little child (as I am right now), and your country had a racing inflation the last two years, there is no chance you could make a living this way, so you have to keep your daytime job, which finally gives you no spare time for anything else than modelling, texturing and basic config.
All in all, ceating detailed models and textures, rigging them and publishing is pretty time consuming and not very profitable.
Of course things can be different if you're young and living with your parrents, or inherited a small fortune, but that's sadly not my case.
So please. Before giving your strong opinion on moders. Try becoming one first. Or at least please talk to some guys that are doing this here.
These are amazing! Thank you! I've been looking for months for something like your 10-16 rings for neck type of jewelry! Found it purely by accident - saw your amazing DawnStar armor on screenshot and figured I'll check what else you got and JACKPOT! :D
Again thank you so much :-)
Now the search continues for similar type of anklets and bracelets :D
The pack looks great, i have a question regarding the images with the angel masks. Do you know the Large black back wings that are used in the photos, i've been looking for wings everywhere. Thanks.
That's interesting. Thanks for sharing the info it may be a cubemap with the same name I suppose. But the mod should still work apart from the conflict.
