Hello, is your another mod Skyrim Remastered - Unreal Ice and Glaciers complete, or there will be an update in the future? Using that + IMR + Icy Cave Remaster, and it's marvelous. Thank you for your work.
I'm using your Icy Mesh Remaster with this mod, and I am stunned with how amazing my ice looks now... my followers probably think the DB is nuts just walking around in the frozen areas staring at the ice floes, ice cave walls, and glaciers, LOL
"Yes, do note that "RIS - RIM or Ice Mesh Remaster Textures" should be a one selection. So either RIM or Icy Mesh Remaster. The provided patch from IMR and RIS isn't required when running RIM unless you really want to run those specific textures.
Also do remember that if you're using icyfixes.esm, you need to disable skyrim remastered caves plugin. "

@meokater unless you're not using Icy Mesh Remaster, then SoS should be at the end of snow mods unless told otherwise by the author. I've also noted in the description that Icy Mesh Remaster needs to be loaded after any conflicting mod (in other words, let IMR win the conflict).
IMR either already has all of the changes from other mods or they do not fit/belong with the aim of the mod.
I'm sorry for being dumb, but I'm more confused with your answer. If we're using this in this order:
Simplicity of Snow Icy Mesh Remaster RIS - Real Ice and Snow RIM - Real Ice Remaster
we do not need the optional textures from file "RIS - RIM or Ice Mesh Remaster Textures" on RIS page, right?
And for Simplicity of Snow: if we are NOT using IMR, then SOS should be at the end of snow mods. If we ARE using IMR, IMR should overwrite SOS?
EDIT: i would love your install recommendations/guide for all these mods (including install options for the IMR). For people, who want to use only your mods/collaborations - IMR, RIS and RIM.
EDIT 2: but you do recommend using the "RIS - RIM or Ice Mesh Remaster Textures" on RIS page in IMR install...
EDIT 3: also what LOD Patch from IMR install i should use, if I'm using both RIM and RIS? You have them both.
No worries, I'll try to explain it a bit more clearly.
Load order: Simplicity of snow RIS - Real ice and Snow Icy Mesh Remaster (2.0 recommended) RIM - Real Ice reMastered
For RIM there is no optional textures. So no you don't need those optional textures. More info on them: The textures that are found on RIS download page was created more as an optional patch made to work with IMR 1.9 incase you don't like the look of the provided patches from IMR.
Simplicity of snow: If you're not using IMR then yes, load it as last. If you're using IMR then you should overwrite everything it conflicts with.
Perhaps I'll take a look into creating a bit more detailed guide in terms of installation. I see that quite a lot of new users tend to have issues with knowing what goes where. It should be up somewhere on IMR description soon.
You should use the IMR 2.0 because it has LOD patch for IMR included in it. So if you're using RIM then use RIM LOD. (There is LOD for RIS too but it's used for RIS only because of darker textures and other minor differences.)
+1 for the detailed guide. The load order is confusing in itself, but also the patches provided in the IMR FOMOD also, specifically choosing which ones to use because RIS and RIM are both used
So I went over some general stuff and issues that people seem to be having and added more info on the installation both here and on IMR. Hope this helps you and others out ! :)
Yes, that's why I'm asking; I see no really difference (I'm also using the original mods) - If its ONLY about textures' improvements, I already done my own improvements (and they are 1000% better than the original ones). So, I'm asking what's the big difference between your mod and the original. I'm most interesting if you did something with the meshes, not the textures.
If you wonna reply, please do. If you wonna troll me, don't bother.
- I asked not in order to make fun of you. I was simply confused because I described in the description what the mod does and providing examples of such. Examples do not include showing every change made to every texture.
- This does not have meshes. Just textures.
- I'll try to expand upon what differences it has from the original:
There's quite a few new textures built from the originals. For example: Icicles https://imgsli.com/MTM5Mjg2 FrozenMarsh https://imgsli.com/MTM5Mjg4
Majority of the alpha channels have also been improved and changed. As the main page also states as the last major change is how the light is reflected on surface of the texture. Meaning it is a lot more accurate and responds better to bumps and/or depth changes of the texture.
- This ice mod is not the ultimate ice mod obviously. It's just a different variation of what exists and a higher quality at that. If you don't like the look of it, there's other mods to pick from or even as you did it, just 'improve' it yourself.
EDIT: Something that I wanted to also add. This mod is more of an 'upgrade' of quality with certain small changes in terms of style.
A simple upscale from 2K to 4K would do absolutely nothing and the mod would look exactly the same. However it uses various techniques to manually remaster the original textures. Therefore you will not see massive changes as it's not a new mod entirely. It's aim is to stay as close and true to original but in more of a 2022 look. Because of this, it will take a bit more Vram and is an optional upgrade for anyone that has the resources to run it.
Very professional response to a very rude comment. As a passerby, those links were super helpful thank you - installing now. The contrast on the frozen marsh seems harsher due to the colour difference.

ty for the ice btw the original low quality textures have always bothered me
About the snow.. well you might need to ask grVulture if he's looking to update them ;)
