If you are having trouble getting the mod to actually randomize the doors and you are getting the "All done" message immediately after the initial message, then please make sure you have downloaded the correct version of PapyrusUtil for your Skyrim.
If you go to the game's install location, right-click on SkyrimSE.exe, select properties, then go to the Details tab, the product version is your Skyrim version.
If that version number is 1.6.xx then you're technically on the Anniversary Edition, regardless if you actually purchased the upgrade or not, so you'll need to download the "PapyrusUtil AE SE" upload. If it's 1.5.xx then you are still on the Special Edition, in which case you will need to download the PapyrusUtil version uploaded in 2020.
Starting with version 0.4, there is now an SKSE-free version as a separate download. If you have trouble with PapyrusUtil and/or Papyrus Tweaks, or if Bethesda updates Skyrim again, then this version should work without issue.
After a bit of work, I have finally cleaned up all of the doors!
24 duplicate doors removed
2 missed doors added
1 door removed that shouldn't have been added
As a result, the Helgen portal no longer appears since it is no longer needed!
I have also moved and enabled the hidden Sovngarde entrance door to prevent players from getting stuck. Normally it's under the ground so that you have to continue to the Hall of Valor.
For the non-SKSE and VR users: the method for manually entering in the seed has been changed. Instead of adding and subtracting from the seed, you can now just input it directly (like typing on a calculator).
So when I load a new save, I get prompted with the screen telling me about the mod and I customize it for the run, but after I hit done, I go to the MCM and it doesn't show up, only SKYUI, yet it still works but I can't change anything after the start. Is there a fix to this?
Are you using a mod manager? Typically, if you have SKSE downloaded and extracted to the game folder (not Data, but where the .exe files are), then your mod manager will run it for you automatically.
i am using vortex mod manager. do i need to extract the script extender manually? Edit: i got it working. i just have to launch skyrim from the script extender loader thingy for it to actually run.
Hello! Love the mod, this is some really fantastic stuff. I just wanted to ask about the Hearthfire DLC, and if the Manor Houses are affected by the door randomizer or not. If so, I was also wondering how it would work with the cellar as well as the roof access from the towers that you can build, since the towers are an optional piece of the full structure. I've recently started a new game with this mod, and am at the point i'm now thinking about building a player house lol-- wanted to double check before building the thing if i could actually walk into it or not. Thanks :)
I'm not sure if I'll ever actually use this mod, but as a long-time ALTTPR fan I think this is fantastic. I'm tracking the mod so that I can remember to give it a try in the future!
I played this awhile ago with what felt like Chaos mode and it was super fresh and fun but mostly unplayable as far as the gameplay loop is regularly concerned. Is it possible to add functionality that just shuffles dungeon entrances? Bleak falls barrow swaps with embershard mine for example without messing with any non-dungeon entrances?
I think it would be nice to selectively edit which cells you want shuffled. Dungeons, homes, shops, etc. To allow for a more regular skyrim experience but still enjoy a bit of that chaotic but refreshing parts of a randomizer.
I was gonna suggest Jaxonz MCM Kicker, but I recently uninstalled it in place for another mod but i can't remember which one lol. Maybe something to do with USMP? I feel like the mod I'm referencing was made my Tarlazo ro MaskedRPGFan.
Having a great time with this mod, thanks! Looking forward to item randomization!
EDIT: Although, I tried to reset the doors (I wanted to get a few quests done) and that only removed every single door in the game. Seems like you're locked in once you randomize.
