OAR is backwards compatible with DAR mods. (I'm a bit late on the reply, so you may know this by now.)

DAR is listed as a requirement properly in the right place, how are people upset? I recently ditched my old modded save to downgrade and am not looking back. Too many mods that are really incredible are not being updated and those that are are taking their time as is their want. These modders are making tools for you for free, yet some people act entitled as though they are owed a handhold and everlasting support of the mod.

If this upsets you, DAR being restricted to 1.5.97 that is, then know that MANY other animation mods that make the game incredibly immersive also will not work. Good news is you can downgrade like I did and even there the mod author provided several means to do it trying to appease those that do not understand that the bs update to whatever it is now was a garbage move from Bethesda. AE my arse, confusion to rope-a-dope people into an 'upgrade' and draw attention to the CCC. Sorry, I respect the hell out the people that put forth the hard work that they do and share it just to have entitled people come along. Thank you to the mod author, you work and sharing is much appreciated!

And the good news is, DAR got updated today to the latest SKSE (1.6.629) version, so it really is a nonissue at this point!

Well, technically the newest version is 1.6.640, the update after that, but I have had someone mention to me that it should still work on the latest version as the difference between the two was slight and that 1.6.640 was for correcting some errors in version 1.6.629. From what I understand,t it was the 1.6.629 version that broke mods, not the latest version.

Adding comment here since my original comment was locked.

If this does not work on the most current version of AE because of DAR, that should be stated in the mod description. Not everyone is a seasoned modder, not everyone knows DAR doesn't work anymore, not everyone has heard the never ending version debate (which I am NOT getting into here, despite the replies on my earlier comment).

Hitting the nail on the head here. You can't simply expect everyone to know about downgrading an .exe. Nor should you expect them to do that even if they do know. Nor should you even expect the average person to keep track of which version they were on.

Last time I played Skyrim before last month, was early 2021. I got back into Skyrim, noticed there was an "AE" and the upgrade only cost $20, and I was "sure, why not". Got it, Steam obviously patched me to the latest version, and that was that. How was I to casually know that there was a very recent version change, and that broke dozens of mods I already had in my load order? Or that, many mods were themselves not broken, but depended on a mod that is?

DAR is cool, but if you're going to make a mod depending on it, you need to put in the Mod Description "Will not on versions past <Whatever>, because this mod depends on a mod that doesn't work on versions past <Whatever>". Same goes for any other deprecated mod.

Same goes for any mod, tbh. Most mods put the version name and number the mod works for in the file description. Does this work with GOG? Does this work with VR? There are so many options that it's really helpful when that info is included. I'm not trying to be mean or rag on the creator of the mod here, just trying to be helpful and save a lot of people headaches (and the mod author a lot of answering the same questions over and over lol)

It's sad! I know. Would be so nice if everyone can just joy the latest version, but it's better to get the easy fix instant. Someone is working on an updated but It would take a lot of time. So you have two options, wait or downgrade.  Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Downgrade Patcher.
You can downgrade to 1.6.5.3 or 1.5.9.7 or use the best of both (best option).

Then stop complaning. It's a community, you're not buying a product. The mod have a FAQ. Isn't the modder fault about DAR situation. You know how to make it work, but seems like you don't want to help yourself.

Why are you being so aggressive? I stated I was not complaining. If you want to argue with someone, please do it elsewhere.

How is that aggresive? Like I said, its a community. About sharing and helping. Anyway. Just wait until someone else updated DAR or just downgrade. Its going to be the same situation with mods related to animations.
Ps: English isn't my mother tongue. So sorry.

It's aggressive because you started a fight that was not happening before you commented. I was giving advice as to make this mod more approachable to folks.

Whatever your reason for wanting to fight, I genuinely hope your day gets better. Goodbye.

This thread is just classic surprised pikachu material. redXathena makes a comment addressing compatibility differences for DAR in SE and AE, Urbon helpfully suggests and explains downgrading (which you need to do in order to run this mod) and then red all of a sudden is saying "this isn't the spot" to talk about that subject.

      Never change nexus, never change

No, there is no need for that. The description includes the mod's requirements, including DAR. Thus, anyone downloading the mod who bothers to go through the correct steps (i.e. reading the description for reqs and compatability info) will see that it needs DAR and either already have it downloaded, or navigate to the mod page and find out whether or not they can use it. I'm all for documentation, but it isn't TheCyclist's job (or any MA for that matter) to babysit people who don't know how to read a description.

Well I don't know how you two misunderstood each other, while both of you were just suggesting. One of you must have been a butthurt aficionado since both of you just stated suggestions and I don't find them aggressive or anything down the line rather than just being informative and helpful. But, well, it's December maybe all folks in community needs some small steam before ending the year I suppose.
