About 1.1, just for performance purpose, could it be possible to make a version with a more reasonable triangle count for collision boxes? Something in between beth's ones and your current ones maybe?

  Yes, but the polygon counts do not even exceed 10k, which is quite normal.
  I can create new ones based on vanilla meshes.
