Regarding compatibility with NPC mods, this mod makes simple changes that can easily be made into a compatibility patch. Anyone can make a patch for this mod without permission, as is tradition. I also recommend that every NPC mod adds the SkillBoosts perks, SilverPerk, and TGWellFitted to every follower they touch because it's free compatibility and fixes. Might as well add them if they're editing the followers anyway.
Apparently the Lucien addon download link has been bugged for a year, and I couldn't update its description either. I wanted to write "Do not use if outdated" so I just deleted it. I'll make a new version once I get back to playing.

Ok I was under the impression that your mod only applied to Housecarls and only did it vertically not horizontally. Apologies if I asking something stupid, but how many floors does this work for?
There is no horizontal tweak afaik, not one that's used anyway, all the tweaks you can find are vertical. This mod covers one floor below and one floor above, while Multiple Floors Sandboxing covers one floor above and two floors below. The extra floor below is too much, not necessary, seems it happened because the author had forgotten to subtract the height of the room the character is standing in for the downwards detection setting.
It's the same tweak except this one is optimized a little better. If you happen to have both in your load order then the last to load gets used, but you don't need to use that mod when you're using this one.

It will cap them to 100.
If you want them to level even more, you can easily edit the level max cap with xEdit.
