About this mod

This is a standalone version of the Requiem dodge (no perk required). When you press the sprint button, you gain a burst of speed for a brief moment.

There are a lot of dodge mods that work well in 3rd person, but I don't think they really fit the 1st person combat that Skyrim predominantly favors. The mod Requiem has a dodge perk that I think is a lot better for 1st person. So I made it a standalone mod (without the perk requirement that Requiem has). Essentially, when you press "sprint" while moving backwards, left, or right, you move much faster for a brief amount of time, and lose some stamina. You'll also get some camera shake (only in first person), and a dodge sound will play. This dodge is similar to 1st person games like Vermintide, and it has the benefit of letting you attack and block while you dodge. It doesn't come with any iframes, so don't think it will trivialize your game, but I think mechanically it's a lot better than Dark Souls style dodge rolls (for Skyrim's combat, I mean).

The most recent update (you can update by just replacing the old files) comes with an MCM that lets you customize everything about the mod. You can change how much speed the dodge gives you (there are separate options for left/right dodging and backwards dodging, because backwards movement is generally slower), for how much time, the camera shake, and whether you want the dodge sound to play. Remember that during combat everything is louder and messier than if you're just standing around, so if you want to tweak the options, it's probably best to do it in combat.
