About this mod

Improve, adjust, fixes & re-concept Miraak's Sword to be a fitting reward weapon for the Dragonborn, specially in endgames and still following Bethesda's Concepts. This mod includes several changes from the sword's enchantment to sound and mesh fixes while maintaining lore & immersion as friendly as possible.

LE

Description below is copied from original LE mod.

: Miraak, the very first Dragonborn carrying such potential wields a joke weapon ***Clap Clap Clap***. Miraak's Sword is one of my favourite artefacts in Skyrim and aside from its aesthetics, seen how it was treated like a generic weapon simply kills all the motivation to use it. Seriously that Absorb Stamina was the solution Bethesda found for Miraak's Sword? Even Harkon's Sword does more than this.

I did this mod to give a period in several gaps left behind by the original authors and fixes other things that even Unofficial Patches didn't touched on.

Here's the list of things this mod do:

Mesh Fix
An overall and definitive care of Miraak's Sword mesh ranging from fixes of its normals, corrected seams & clippings, filled empty faces, removal of double vertices and unnecessary polygons, re-triangulation, new Blood Layer and optimisation. (See Pictures Above)

New Scabbard
Adds a scabbard following Bethesda's concepts, the sword will no longer be a floating ambulant weapon in Dragonborn's waist.

Unique Enchantment & Adjusted Stats

The sword's enchantment has been rebuild following Mora's traits as well the ones given to the weapon while maintaining the original enchantment as well.

1 - It's long tentacle whip now hit enemies at great distance, more than a Two-Handed weapon.
2 - The whip hit all targets within range with any attack, similar to the Sweep Perk.
3 - Each hit done by the sword now deals 6 Points of Poison Damage during 6 Seconds. Continuously hitting enemies will cause the effect to stack doing catastrophic damage.
4 - Upon killing an enemy, there's 25% of chance of a Tentacle Explosion to occur and will knockout anyone close to it, similar to the strongest shout of Unrelenting Force.
5 - Absorb Stamina now requires you to Power Attack doing 6 Points of absorption per hit.
6 - Due to being a very lightweight weapon, it now swings almost to a speed of a dagger.

The sword, like other unique weapons in Skyrim, is a levelled item which its stats depends on your level. The mod makes sure that all 3 versions of the Miraak's Sword you receive are the same. You'll always receive the strongest version, no matter your level. Charges also are set to unlimited, since Miraak's Sword appears to be a Daedric Artefact probably forged by Mora and Daedric Artefacts are meant to be powerful.

Sound Fix
The sword has unique set of sounds from Drawing/Sheathe to swing and impact on certain objects, however great part of them have volume issues and are low or almost impossible to hear and some were set in wrong audio category. Everything was fixed and adapted specially for players who play Skyrim on Stereo machines but 5.1 audio will work excellent as well.

====== Installing ======

Before anything else, if you plan to install and already have Miraak's Sword, go to your game take the sword and recharge it until be maxed, then drop the sword, preferably in your home (do not put it in a weapon rack or display case), leave the room and stay somewhere else, save your game and exit. This process is necessary to update the enchantments correctly, DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

Make sure to create a backup save before installing this mod in case you didn't liked it or something went wrong. DON'T EVER uninstall it in mid playthrough since there's a script attached to the sword that controls a perk added to it. Removing it, as any other mod, in mid playthroughs will cause your game to crash, specially if you use the sword latter.

====== F.A.Q ======

Q: O my... another Miraak's Sword mod?
A: Yes and why not? Before developing this mod I searched around mods that could do a definite fix and make the sword a weapon worth wielding specially as a good endgame item, but great part just did mesh edits I didn't liked, added traits that had nothing to do with the sword itself and others made the weapon too strong and broken or made it good to go but were done for Skyrim Special Edition only. I decided in the end to do something by myself.

Q: There's a Special/Anniversary Edition Version?
A: No, I don't have time for porting and my time is restrict. Feel free to port it to SE/AE if you want. At least notify me if you launched it so I can add a link to your port.

Q: Does this mod add extra scripts?
A: No. this mod makes use of only one vanilla script, and that's it.

Q: Texture replacer mods of Miraak's Sword work in this mod?
A: Yes, even the scabbard added to it. If you replace Miraak's Sword textures the scabbard is affected the same way as well.

Q: Why do I need Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (USLEEP), for this mod?
A: USLEEP does some edits in the Miraak's Sword that were important and this prerequisite is necessary for better compatibility. Please don't ask me to make a separate mod without USLEEP prerequisite. Not having USLEEP nowadays is asking your game to suffer with bugs.

I'm open to suggestions or if there's something that can be done better.
