ATTENTION: I recommend installing Hypothermia Plus SSE (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12809), since the mod author knows the ins and outs of the original Hypothermia and provides improved features.

While my port will be left online, there's no reason to use it now that we've got a fully supported Hypothermia Plus for Special Edition.

    *****

NOTICE: If you decide to install "Hypothermia Plus SSE", you will need the latest version of the original Hypothermia (yes, the one for Classic Skyrim/Oldrim, created by n1t0r), instead of this ported version of mine!

The original Hypothermia can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6745/

Camping Lite is my favorite for simple fires. I renamed the power record WOOD AND FIRE.

Campfire has nice tents that register as shelter with Frostfall, maybe with this mod also.

SkyRealism Portable Crafting has great portable tools. I don't use the portable smelter.

I edit records so in game I don't have duplicate stuff and I vendors and crafting have the correct items.

I use Real Time Waiting but I think it pauses Hypothermia monitoring.

I disabled stamina because this mod triggers my breathing mod too often.

I like the shake effect more than anything. It is a good handicap in the cold. I get Hypothermia swimming in summer in nice area. I am trying to fix that but it may be because the base game sets the temperature to low for these areas. Very good mod seems stable. I need to test rain and shelter as I may add Real Shelter if needed. Frostfall lets you sit in a tent from Campfire mod as shelter. I will test this mod for the same effect. If I get wet in a tent then I may switch mods or just use Camping Lite tent but that tent is sleep only and you need to sleep after warming or this mod causes Bone Chills. More testing, lots of possibilities.

This version of mine was based on version 1.4 of the original Hypothermia (by n1t0r) because it was the last one before the SKSE requirement (at the time, there was no SKSE for Skyrim Special Edition, hence why I ported 1.4).

The latest version of n1tor's Hypothermia is actually 1.5, which is the one you should use for Hypothermia Plus SSE.

Btw, thanks for the heads up. Added this to the sticky.

Does this mod works with campfire? I'm asking because the fire in campfire doesn't seem to warm my character.

      Unfortunately, no.

You should check "Hypothermia Plus SSE - Unofficial Upgrade", by Granson. You can find it at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12809

I'll track for now but I'm thinking using it with Realistic Need & Disease and Camping Lite.

    Hello everyone,

Been an avid user of this mod for a long time. I do prefer frostfall and many of its features. However, the script latency of this mod is far superior, especially with Skyrim's sensitive engine in the first place. It is for this reason I've stayed with this mod for almost a year now. My reason for commenting is as follows.

*smirks*, I am trying to kill off my character and make her freeze to death. In this mod's grand scope, it does this fairly well. However in game, it takes too long, in my opinion. With the tweak of the setting of "HypoBaseBodyHeat", could anyone recommend a number that makes being outside in the snowy blizzard a bit more challenging yet not impossible to survive in ? Every attempt I've tried either turns me in a popsicle or allows me to run around Tamriel three times before I get cold enough to go inside.

P.S. I love my Dovahkin, don't judge me. *Grins*.

Is anyone having issues with Hypothermia detecting the heat sources from campfires made by Campfire?

Hmm. Never installed Campfire but I know there's a compatibility patch for Classic Skyrim. However, it's meant for Hypothermia 1.5 whereas this one is a simple port of 1.4. Unfortunately I'm not proficient enough with xedit or the Creation Kit in order to create a patch for the SE.

Not a helpful reply, I know.

In the last days I personally experienced Hypothermia having trouble detecting several different heatsources, even unmodded ones, like a giant camp fire (had that just now). Checked in SSEEdit, but there didnt's seem to be anything overriding the quest or the object.

Well having been a loyal Frostfall user over these years, I have been noticing some problems of late with crashes, corrupted safe games, and general real life jinxing. ineed is also a suspect, and I think the two are in cahoots. So thank you for this alternative, once you have these realism mods it's hard to go back.

    nice

I have the mod (German Version) already converted to SSE for me. I like it better than Frostfall and works very well with my Dragonkiller Cart CampFire.
