as with all your work, this has been great, thanks much. i did notice an oddity. Pantea was in front of the college playing the flute, as she's supposed to. but it was a pouring thunderstorm and she was a few feet from the front door, in an opera gown (mod). just seemed way outta place that the diva would be there in a storm. the pkgs for the peons i can see being in the rain drumming up donations for the college lol.
you think it'd be okay if i added conditions to not have the package work when Israining=0 (or snowing to)? i've never added or changed conditions before so just don't wanna mess it up. and i'm not sure which package to add it to. the vanilla flute pkg 00095883, or your added SolitudeBardPlaysFlutePackagePantea ...or both any advice appreciated. thanks
By adding the condition to the 00095883 package (the "go to position and start scene" one) she shouldn't go and play if it's raining (needs testing). To make her go away if it starts raining while already playing would require editing the quest scene. But those College bards are tough, a few drops of rain shouldn't bother them much. Moreover, as per the Elder Scrolls lore, they are all equipped with regulation waterproof instruments. :)
wow, i just found this gem. thought i had all your mods. gonna install, but was wondering do ya think this might be on the heavy side for scripts firing? wondering if my solitude can handle it. thanks!
Just invert the load order and you're fine, even more so because the record in chico.esp looks like a "wild edit" without any real reason to be there. Or delete it from chico.esp and maybe run xedit's autoclean on the plugin (usually mods with wild edits also have ITMs and/or other issues). I'm pretty sure that chico would still work as intended.
Nope. With RDO, instead of standing still in the patio doing nothing, they walk around in the patio doing not much. With this, they play music in the patio... very 'bardish' :D Good to know, though -- I'll mention that in the description.
I read Dynamic Beards. I was so happy that my beard will grow with time, I swear, one day my enthusiasm and blindness will lead me to my grave. Well, speaking of beards, can you do it? Can you make a beard that grows over time?
Hey, this is not meant to be a rude question, but what is in this mod that requires USSEP? The ussep master requirement can be easily removed with "clean unused master" feature in SSEEdit.
So you politely imply that I'm an idiot... :D AI packages attached to the NPCs. It's unused but useful, I added it as master to "strongly suggest" that you'd better have it.
Welll, technically I am the idiot who does not understand how mods work. Hindsight, I could have worded my question better. I was asking what is required from USSEP, so I could copy just those required parts from USSEP to avoid using the whole USSEP. So... AI packages, so just check which are not part of the base game and forward the missing ones from USSEP then.
Edit: In answer to my own question, this has conflicts with Bards Reborn, JK's Bards' College, and AI Overhaul (in my personal LO). I think it might still be useful if simply loaded early, but some patching might be necessary and/or good.
Thanks, tarlazo. If nothing else, I'll do that. If I get ambitious, I may try my hand at patching it.
Edit: I went ahead and took a shot at it. The patch requires only Bards Reborn and Dynamic Bards, but assumes that you also use AI Overhaul, JK's Bards' College and the compatibility patches between all these mods. For anyone interested, it can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10PVUjm0IU3E6o7CSOBaAtRjqx378MMEH/view?usp=sharing
Edit 2: I noted that Dynamic Bards also places idle markers in Bits and Pieces and Angelina's. I haven't checked whether these fit JK's revised shop layouts. But if not, then we can always let Janquel know :P
Those are to mimic the AI Overhaul's sandbox packages for two bards. When you load DB after it, the behavior is still the same multi-location sandbox instead of the vanilla one-place -- just a slightly different schedule.
Clickbait? Meh; You're better than that Roberto and everyone knows it. BTW... Thank you for all of these great "tiny" fixes they really do make a difference.
I offer you a challenge. Make it dynamic.
What about using a combination of DAR and SPID, with your own flavor of magic editing the dialog trees appropriately, to alter the actors, songs, and instruments, of "scene A" into a small well defined pool of choices. Make the classes actually slightly different every time they trigger as well.
While you're at it can you also fix the scene in the library not to endlessly repeat the same questions over and over and ... Making that dynamic would be a real test of skill, but xVasynth? Yeesh... maybe spliced existing dialog lol.
(I drop this gauntlet with a smile... you do nice work ;-) )
Well, the original title was Bards College Scenes, but it didn't really lend itself to silly jokes :)
"Challenge" sounds "long-and-tedious-task" to my ears -- well beyond my current, extremely limited attention span which is probably lower than a mosquito's.

Does RDO do something similar?

No idea about bards reborn.
