Overview

The Viridian Knight armor set by Kreiste and wSkeever contains four items that don't occupy conventional armor slots (pauldrons, tasset, cuisses, and couters). I'll refer to these as extra pieces for now. These pieces have armor rating and, when wearing the full set, are worn at the same time as the pieces that occupy the standard vanilla armor slots (head, body, hands, feet). The armor rating of the pieces that occupy the vanilla armor slots is already equivalent to that of orcish armor. When the full set is worn, you will end up with a total armor rating that is considerably higher than that of daedric armor. Since it is possible to wear the extra pieces alongside any armor that occupies vanilla slots, it is optimal for a character that wants armor rating to always wear the extra pieces, even when they would horribly clip and make no sense, which would be the case with most armors that aren't Viridian Knight. I didn't want this to be an option in the game, so I made a plugin to address it.

The following changes have been made to the extra armor pieces:
  • Reduced armor rating to 0
  • Disabled tempering recipe
  • Reduced weight to 0
  • Removed ArmorHeavy keyword
  • Added MagicDisallowEnchanting keyword

About the weight changes

Obviously, it makes sense for the extra pieces to weigh something. I don't really like the weight being at 0, but I did this to avoid interactions with mod-added effects that scale off the weight of equipped armor. I don't know of any mods that do this, and depending on their implementation of such a mechanic, the change may not be needed. If you'd like, you can just revert the weight change in xEdit. (I don't know if the weight of armor in these slots counts towards the weight of worn armor in the sneaking formula.)

About the ArmorHeavy keyword

Mods with effects that check if the player is wearing a number of pieces of heavy armor will most likely do so by looking for this keyword. This can be exploited if the extra pieces have this keyword. Example: in Ordinator, the Heavy Armor Mastery perk gives the player Heavy Armor experience when wearing at least two pieces of Heavy Armor in combat. This means a character wearing a full set of light armor could still benefit from this perk by equipping two extra pieces.

About the MagicDisallowEnchanting keyword

This prevents items from showing up in the enchanting menu. I believe there were no enchantments that could be applied to the extra pieces to begin with, but I added this keyword just in case some mod-added enchantments could be. It also de-clutters the menu.
