This only edits the juniper, please use Fixed Mesh Lighting by Catnyss if you need any other meshes fixed. He also edits the juniper, making this mod superseded, but I will keep it up for now, just in case someone ONLY wants to fix this single plant.
NOTE: This uses SMIM textures, and is an edit of the juniper mesh in Nifscope!
I altered the nif of the juniper to be less bright--note that I am using Cathedral Weathers; if you use some other mod that effects lighting, results may vary.
here is a quick rundown on how to do something like this yourself...
step 1: Download Nifscope off github
step 2: Extract Nifscope anywhere, run the EXE, and once Nifscope is open, click File at the top left.
step 3: Open the nif you want to edit. Most of the plant nifs are in Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\plants
step 4: Once the nif is open, simply click on "the ugly pink thing," and expand the highlighted dropdown menu that appears to the left
step 5: Click on BSLightingShaderProperty, and scroll down until you find Lighting Effect 1 (it's at the bottom)
step 6: Change this value to 0.3
step 7: If the nif you are editing has multiple TriShapes, like the juniper, just click on the rest of them, and repeat the steps. For example, the juniper has the wood, the leaves, and the base. Edit all of them, then save.
