You probably forgot to install some requirements of my mod (such as PAPER), or you are trying to mix the SPID version of my scripts with the non-SPID version of the original mod (or vice versa)
Sorry for not speaking English. All requirements have been installed.(Optimised Scripts for Enhanced Blood Textures - SPID version-76767-1-0-0-1665250639) If you install this mod, blood will not splatter on the floor. And the Reset Cloak Spell disappears in mcm.
NexusMods tells me (but they are sometimes wrong) that you did not yet download this requirement: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/73849
Make sure that you have PAPER installed, and that you are combining the correct version of my mod with the correct version of the original mod (either both SPID, or both not SPID)
Help, I played a save for dozens of hours and forgot to install PAPER. So I installed this MOD directly. If I reinstall it, will it affect the save or will there be permanent issues that require me to restart a new game?
It's not entirely clear to me exactly what you installed/uninstalled/reinstalled when, but:
(1) PAPER is 100% safe to install, uninstall, or reinstall at any point in your saved game (just uninstalling will probably cause other mods that depend on it to stop working correctly). (2) Optimised Scripts for EBT (i.e., my files from this page) are 100% safe to install/uninstall/reinstall at any point in your saved game. (3) The original Enhanced Blood Textures mod is the only one you need to be more careful with. Installing that one mid-game is fine, but if you uninstall it, you will likely get some orphaned scripts in your saved files that require cleaning.
Would this mod help at all with combat performance ?, a lot of the time in combat when i hit someone or am hit and blood splatters my game stutters but never against things like skeletons that don't spray blood when attacked..
Can't promise that it will, but I guess there is a chance that it might help. It's especially going to reduce the number of scripts that are running when magic is involved (especially continuous flamethrower-style spells, but also others), or enchanted weapons. But also optimisations in general.
Yes. PAPER should really always preserve backwards compatibility (installing newer versions of PAPER should never be bad, barring any unintended situations like some of the crashes/freezes there were in recent versions of PAPER before 2.2.3).
i teared my hair trying to figured out why the blood doesnt work like before (blood in the floor, etc) and narrowed it down this mod is the cause, at least the spid ver.
See the last chain of comments right before yours. That user also reported the same thing, but ultimately it turned out they had installed the SPID versions of my scripts, but the non-SPID version of the original mod. You have to make sure they match up.
Besides that, you have to make sure to also correctly install any other requirements. My scripts require PAPER. The NexusMods web interface may be wrong, but it's telling me that you didn't download PAPER.
Thank you for your work. But it looks like your mod is not working. Every time I activate it in MO, blood splatters disappear in the game and the corpses stop twitching in convulsions, as it is in the original EBT. Just in case, I'll send you my skse64.log, but believe me, all the requirements are met. log
Thanks for the report. I'll look into it, but won't be able to until Tuesday evening at least.
Just to make things 100% clear: what exactly are you referring to as "blood splatters"? Is this about blood spraying from killed NPCs (I guess you mean this), or about blood effects on the screen (not in the game world)?
If you are able to easily test, it would also be helpful if you can check whether there also is an issue specifically in the case where NPCs got killmoved and/or decapitated.
I can say that everything disappears except the settings menu in MCM. Blood splatter on the ground, blood drips, convulsions, wounds on the body of the NPC and the Player disappear. I have a vanilla screen effect option. If this is important, then only disabling the Optimised Scripts plugin in MO and starting a new game helps. As for the killed \ decapitated NPCs, it will be very difficult for me to check, because I do not know the console commands to get the necessary perks. Thanks for the reply.
Ok, I've looked into it extensively but on my end it works fine (with my optimised scripts for the SPID edition installed). I also tested with extra log statements, to confirm they were running... but can also just visually see it functioning (with things like the spasms) in my own game.
I've also tested with Precision installed, to rule out the possibility of some sort of incompatibility between the OnImpact() events of PAPER and Precision... but that also worked, no issue there.
I didn't spot any other similar kind of SKSE plugins that might have a risk of messing up the hit-related events from PAPER, but if you can think of any that you have installed, I could test again with that. Apart from that, I don't have any ideas as to why it might not work on your end.
I suppose you tested extensively, actually killing many NPCs to see? Many of these EBT features have some degree of randomness, so if you killed only one NPC for example as a quick test, it could be possible that you just happened to not see anything due to RNG.
I recorded a video and sent it off with a personal message, I really don't know what to do anymore, if it really works for you, then I won't be able to continue doing my dream build, lol.
Depends on what you want. EBT Lite simply has fewer features that the main mod, it lacks any of the features that require scripting. If you don't mind not having those features, EBT Lite is the best option (no scripts running is more efficient than my optimised scripts running). If you do care about those features, well, then EBT Lite is not a good option, because it doesn't have them.
