Is there a way to have this item available for purchase at taverns and shops? I hate that I have to make my own rations all the time

Does it reduce hunger in survival mode?

      It does now.
Only a patch right now though. Will add a merged version later.

How is the experience applied (its it a bonus to learning all skills much like the lovers comfort bonus?) also does this stack with other sources of exp bonus (lovers comfort food and standingstones?) reason I ask is I play with the experience mod which bases level more off actions like killing or completing quests. would be nice if it boosted skill learning that way tho could also be nice to have a patch that gives it a bonus to the experience gained from that mod as an option. either way this is a great idea!

It's applied the same way as the standing stones and the well rested buff. So a multiplier to the Skill EXP.
So yes, it stacks with other EXP buffs from stones and so on.

I'm however not sure if I can adapt it to the Experience mod since it adds a specific amount depending on the task completed which means I probebly can't run a multiplier on that. I will however look into it and see if I can run a script that overwrites the EXP values while the Food buff is active. Can't promise anything but I will look into it at least.

Oh thats awesome! adapting it to experience through a patch while nice no worries if it cant be done. really like the idea of more recipes with different effects I main magic elsweyr fondue is a great friend but the buff is kinda short at 12m would love swapping Stam for Magicka regen for starters or maybe making a pure magic one with stronger longer buffs that include having to take elsweyr fondue as an ingredient. I could really see this mod doing great things, I don't use caco as i use another alchemy mod so it fits in without being a overhaul of food.

If you dont mind feedback will post more as i think of it and play around more!

thanks for the answer and looking into the patch.
      most of all the mod!

I love feedback so keep it coming. XD

I want to keep the recipes as easy and close to Vanilla as possible to keep them easy to make but might make more specific food mods in the future. However, adding some new types of rations could be a fun idea. I will see what I can come up with. However, I don't want too many because it will clutter up the crafting menu and will just make it annoying for people. But could definitely have at least 3 versions.

As someone who uses survival mods and hates carrying around a bunch of random chunks of meat, heads of cabbage, etc., I always wished there was some kind of "rations" mod. Now there is!

Last Seed detects this as food when you eat it and allows you to classify it. That's perfect, since I can now have a viable preserved food source with an incentive to create, and I can reduce the time it takes for other food to spoil, which will encourage me even more to use preserved food. I use Poverty and get rid of almost all food in the game, so now I also have a good reason to buy food from vendors (to make rations!).  Personally, I set this as a single-use food item, preserved, medium filling (since rations aren't generally super tasty). As an added bonus, if you enable follower food effects in Last Seed, the stamina/heal rate boost helps your followers too.

I haven't tested it yet, but I assume this is not compatible with Hunterborn. I will create my own compatibility patch, but I'm sure other people would love to see that as an option too! :)

    Thanks for the mod!

      Thank you!
I will look into adding some patches for survival mode and so on. Just want to balance it so you don't get hungry too soon. Should also look into having it give heat aswell. Will get to it shortly.

Great idea. Doesn't make much sense to carry around 20 bowls of soup while crawling through a dungeon. One question, does this work with mods like Sunhelm and Ineed?

      Not at the moment.
This was mostly a way to make food useful for those who don't use survival mods.
But I could release an Ineed version later.
