Hi, I'm not sure what's going wrong but I've got Nordic Ruins loading first, then Ryn's, then this patch, but it doesn't seem to be working. There's a giant arch going right through the steps: https://imgur.com/a/EfZkOh1
If you have any idea what the problem might be, I would really appreciate it!
So - plugins in Skyrim can have other plugins as 'master' plugins - this means they wont work without that plugin installed, and the game will crash without them.
One version of my plugin comes with Ryn's Saarthal plugin as a master, despite not technically needing it. This is useful because at least one (MO2) mod manager will warn you if a master isn't installed. Due to this patch being mostly useless without Ryn's Saarthal installed, some users (myself included) may find the reminder useful!
As long as you have Ryn's Saarthal installed, though, the difference in the two plugins is completely meaningless, so it really doesn't ultimately matter in this case
hello, I have eslified Nordic Ruins of Skyrim as a light plugin ( and it works well ), I try to use your patch along with Ryn's and MO2 shows that now I am missing Nordic Ruins of Skyrim esp .. Could you please also help to add another version that needs only eslified NRS as master, or removing the need of NRS as a master ? : ) Thank you !
Removing it as a master wouldn't be physically possible, but generally, patches for mods that have been ESLified won't work quite so simply, i'm afraid.
I am not a modder and don't know scripting, I just saw that Ryn himself make a patch for 2 of his works to work together, and we know that Ryn's works are all ESL, this is why I am thinking that it is maybe possible to make eslified NRS and Ryn's work together with your patch, I could try it at my own risk, if you could consider on it and make an optional version . ::)
I used Rudy88's tool to make NRS into esl file, I know that in xedit we have other way to do, however Rudy's tool can also tell whether one esp could be eslified, and NRS is one of the esp that I try to do it and work so far without any issue, I think this is because NRS only amend outsides ... i know of Rudy's tool, i'm just a little confused as I've been using it myself, and its never offered to ESLify NRS. The only thing i can think of is that you've compacted the FormIDs of NRS in xEdit, which would make any patch that require it incompatible unless they were also active in xEdit at the time of compacting.
Either way, that doesn't change the file name to .esl, so the mod would still register it's masterfile as there, even though it would do nothing.
Your best bet for making this compatible is to reinstall NRS, so you don't have the ESL-flagged version, and then compact it in xEdit and ESLify it with Rudy's tool again, with this patch active in your LO and in xEdit during both steps
