    Version 3.4 is Out!

    What's New?
    *************

    - Gave most fabric textures a more worn look. Several fabrics are also brand new, and added for some more distinct variety than simple palette-color-swapping.

    - Fixed a mixing texture on the ropes for the hanging kitchen utensils

    - Tweaked the wardrobe armor "skirt" that would sometimes flicker on-and-off. Hopefully it has now resolved itself.

It's a small, but aesthetically significant update. Though it may not be directly obvious, most fabric textures have gotten some kind of tweak to blend in better with the worn world of Skyrim. Added a sample-picture last in the gallery if you want to take a look.

    Version 3.3 is Out!

    What's New?
    *************

    - New custom canvas texture for the hammock and reading "bean-bag"

    - The Drafting table will now give you 10 seconds to exit the menu after building the Decoration Options (the last one). Then the drafting-table will disappear. If you still "get stuck", just hit jump, and you will cancel the "reading-schematics-animation".

    - New oil-lanterns hanging from the ropes inside in the ceiling

    - new outside brazier-lantern hanging near the Hotbed garden. This lantern is now animated, and will swing softly in the wind.

    - Revised the design of the stove. It is now much more detailed, with new doors made in Markarth-esque design. The stove has a better activator for opening the fire-door, and no longer extends up along the wall, invisibly.

    - Bigger and better actvator for the wood-chopping block. Much easier to activate now. Also moved the activator for the outside-fireplace toggle to make it slightly easier to hit.

    - Fixed an odd shadow on the base of the candelabra in the reading area. Shadows now look alright.

    - The inside of the "grammophone-horn" now has proper shadowing, similar to the one in Hermit Cottage. Looks much better now.

    Cheers.

    Version 3.2ab is Out!

    What's New?
    *************

    - Tool-boxes have been combined into one central Drafting Table located outside.

    - Fixed a missing texture on an outside basket.

    - Adjusted the firepoker outside so it no longer goes through a rock.

    - Adjusted the campfire so the stones are set deeper into the snow

    - Made a lot of the building recipes significantly easier to build. They seemed a little too punishing to me.

    - Outside ropes for the garden lantern are now more worn-looking.

After building the decoration options the workbench will disappear, but your character will stay in the enchanting-table-animation. Cancel out of the current menu, and hit "jump", and you'll be back to normal

    Cheers.

Good stuff, really enjoy this home mod, especially being able to build it yourself, even with an extra feature of spending hours on it, which is really just a cherry on top. The only debatably bad thing I can point out is that it conflict with CC mod Umbra, which spawn a nordic ruin where the Well is and Mythic Dawn's cave, also CC, very nearby, with the Well overwriting them

Having a patch for them would be nice
    Umbra (1)
    Mythic Dawn (2)

Where is it? I, like many other people, play with fast travel disabled. So having a proper description of location or even better, a map, is a primary consideration when choosing a home base, to see how feasible it would be to trudge from the home to the nearest carriage. I may have missed it, but I can't see where this is located.

It's east of Shor's Stone, exactly where Champion's Rest used to be. (The TCL cheat code is required to access Champion's Rest after this mod is installed.)

Sadly as much as I love this mod I had to remove it from my newest runthrough. There is just too much going on in what was once a rather quiet part of the rift.

1.) The dungeon, Champion's Rest, from the CC Umbra is buried behind the area.
2.) The last dungeon from the CC The Cause, Red Scar Cavern, is nearby and is *almost* buried by the landscape edit.
3.) The last dungeon, Kagrenar, from the mod Moon and Star is nearby.

If this could be moved somewhere else (honestly, preferably somewhere a *little* closer to a road) I would happily download it again. As it is, with the AE in particular it needs some work. The landscape edits clash badly.

This is a great mod, but unfortunately incompatible with the "Umbra" creation on the Creation Club, as it changes the terrain and makes Champion's Rest inaccessible. Could a patch be made for this?

I ended up just using TCL to get through. No huge loss as I'm never going back to it afterward.

For some reason I can't seem to get the fertile soil to work... I feel like I'm missing something obvious...

      Which platform (pc, xbox)?

Have you tried with a new character/file?

I need more details in order to address problems. Detailed reporting is paramount.

It happened to me too, but I didn't give it much thought since I was just testing mods not really playing. Also I thought it is related to the fact I'm using Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul which is touching harvesting and adding some of growable plants. I'm on PC, latest versions of Skyrim, SKSE64. Now I remember I didn't properly started the game, but just COC to location from the menu, couldn't that caused the problem, at least for me?

The fertile soil didn't work for me either and I'm playing on a new character with both mods (The Well & CACO) from the start. Not a big deal. I still LOVE the hideout, but just fyi. Thank you to OrinLinwe for the awesome player home!

I can only develop for vanilla setting.

The only mods I have in mind when creating is Frostfall, and "go to sleep animation"-mods (because it's a nice little touch, and very limited in scope).

It would be an endless amount of work to try to keep up with all mods people are using. I appreciate that you guys mention what mods you are using when encountering problems, though. It saves me a lot of time, as opposed to someone just saying "this is broken", and I assume they are using vanilla setting, and I've done a fundamental error in a release.

It could be useful if some of you guys, who are having the problem with the soil, disable the mod you think is conflicting with this mod temporarily, and report back on whether or not it makes the soil in this home work as intended.

This kind of "A-and-B-testing" is very useful for modders. If you don't mention that you're using significant overhaul-type mods that might conflict, a mod-author just assumes that they fucked up on a fundamental level (as opposed to not tailoring their mod for a particular set of other mods).

Two years later and I finally see your reply... I'm so sorry, but better late than never, right??  I checked today and can confirm the fertile soil works perfectly fine without CACO installed.  It's just a mod-conflict causing this issue and nothing you did.

Thank you again for that amazing mod though!  It's been my favorite player home all of this time and remains that way to this day.  I will boot CACO from my mod list before I stop living in The Well.  It's really just perfect.

Never endorsed, never commented, been modding for years and have cycled through hundreds.

Not only is this my personal favorite housing mod I've ever used (bar none) the rest of your designs are fantastic. Anyone can come up with the idea of a sprawling manor or cozy villa, I don't think many people could come up with something so unique, atmospheric and charming.

I hope your mods get more attention in the future, they deserve it.

dang... had hoped a cheater map would finally help me find that cursed elusive well, but the link is dead, LOL

Anyone else care to share a map screenshot with at least an approximation where to start dowsing???? :D

Update: ok, looks like at least some Youtubers dropped some hints in their reviews... so my assassin can finally not freeze to death and start digging and building... thanks for the epic little home!
      Spoiler:
      Show
go East from Shor's Stone, it is up there in the mountains. Depending on terrain mods part of the well and initial platforms will be hidden in rocks which can be disabled via console.

Mate, your mods are some of the best quality player home mods I have ever seen playing Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 4.
I really dont wanna say much, but they are comparable to Elianora's creations.
    You are very very talented.

    Keep up the great work!

Such a cozy little house. Since I don't need the exterior/garden, I would have liked it even better if the entrance was "buildable" too, I mean, being able to choose between a few wells - in the mountains, near towns, or in a city.
