It will work with anything. CACO included. As it has nothing to do with CACO. If CACO have custom potions/poisons, a CACO specific recipe addon can be created. Out of the box all standard (shopbought and found) potions and poisons from Skyrim is craftable.
Crafts are an important RPG aspect that where rushed in Skyrim. So this expansion to Alchemy is a Spell Research addon not a replacer of the Vanilla Alchemy System. Good choice and no compatibility concerns. Wish i could replace the Vanilla system personally with something that requires bit more chemistry such as this but i suppose there are mods that can be made anyway. My guess is that mods that tweak Potions and Ingredients (Magnitute Effects etc.) that do maintain the original Vanilla Keywords will be recognized by this system without a patch. At least that's just my guess, don't take my word for it lol have to test
You are correct. This mod merely create recipes tied to the alembic that allow you to craft all base Skyrim potions and poisons (in addition to some ingredients like Moon Sugar).
The mod is explicitly design to not interfere with anything at all. It merely use spell research reagents as ingredients.
No matter which alchemy mod you use, it should be compatible.
If a mod author wish to add recipes that are specific to an alchemy add on, that is perfectly possible. I would suggest that you look up the recipes in this mod, copy as new some recipe that are “close” to effect in mod added one and then add that mod as master in new mod.
You can then change or add reagent type and strength and point at the potion you want user to be able to craft.
If someone does this, I can add these patches to optional downloads.
In my original Requiem alchemy overhaul I had potion recipes for potions that turn you into a werewolf but left that out in base mod for maximum compatibility with other Alchemy Overhauls.
I am familiar with Requiem and addons for it as well as Apothecary. Looks like its plug and play and the way its designed it will be easier for mods that introduce unique potions to add a recipe on the list which makes this Spell Research Extension highly compatible.
