This mod, as you may have noticed, hasn't been updated. I've found a way to make the system more responsive, but it requires an overhaul. I'm working on it, of course, but progress is slow, especially as my focus has been on Souls Do Things and a modlist project I'm collaborating with a few other authors on.
I'll provide support when I can, but yes, I am aware of the issues of this mod. Particularly the SPID file.
Considering you were able to make equipped staffs increase spell power, do you think it would be possible to make other weapons (e.g. swords) with certain enchantments improve spell power? This would certainly revolutionize spellblade roleplaying.
This is awesome. I'd love to see a modular version of this. I mostly only care about the spell buffing and ward effect when wielding a staff, not so much about the rest of the mod.
I'm trying to wrap my feeble brain around this mod. It doesn't replace any of the staff items in the game, but simply changes their behavior based on the characters actions? So if I have the mod Magical Staves and Staffs (Nexus/11319) I should still be able to craft a new staff and it would still work in the context of this mod? Also, I was hoping for a response to /u/za5adlo below. It seems like there should be FEWER NPCs possessing and using a staff after installing this mod. Thanks!
I'm not sure if it's an issue on my end, but the Synthesis patch refuses to run. It gives this error:
ScrollPatcher.cs(51, 48): error CS0117: 'CastType' does not contain a definition for 'Scroll
I found another user here who posted a solution, but it didn't fix the problem for me. All the patch did when set to match was that it created an empty ESP.
EDIT: I'm an idiot. I didn't adjust the patcher's settings. I had to add my magic mods to the Added Mods list.
Mod is nice, i found it more interesting than multiple alternatives on nexus. It works, doesn't req some specialty to learn etc. thts pretty nice. But if i use Vanilla SPID distribution in fomod.. - well skyrim becomes mages world. Each npc becomes mage. Even non magic foes. So i just dont install it. Didnt check mysticism, i actually, playing vanilla magic skyrim.
Do the staffs only cast a lesser ward? How can I make it do a slightly better ward is SSEedit? I see lesser ward in the magic effect area but not sure what to change here.
