Does the skill level, Adept, Expert, etc. also restriction based on discipline?

For example if you have a expert skill in destruction novice in restoration, you can learn expert destruction spells but not expert restoration  spells?

Hi, since there isn't a "bugs" section I'm posting here. I'm having the following issues:

    1. Animation doesn't play with shield equipped.

    2. Time doesn't pass if the animation is disabled.

    3. Minor incompatibility with "Show player in menus": the animation doesn't play while in 1st person and weapon sheathed.

Aside from this, great mod, thank you.

I modified the script a bit. Now it blocks you from reading the spell tomes while you swim as well. Here is the download link (you gonna need to start a clean save so the changes could apply).

And I was just about to complain that the reading animation plays when I go with the flow of the river which looked terribly silly. Thank you so much.

Still you can read these spelltomes while you are midair so if you are above the deep water and start reading it you still can do it and I don't know how to deal with it...so yeah it's kinda useless xD

Edit. Ok there is a workaround for that. You use Skyrim Souls menus to unpause inventory. Even if you acitivate the inventory menu mid-air you would land before reaching the spell tom out of it.

Amazing mod, thanks a lot. Mod works however the spellbook is consumed, even if I install the example file from required mod. Is it possible to have this mod work without the spell book being consumed? Cheers.

I have also found that spell tomes are still consumed despite having Don't Eat Spell Tomes installed as well.

The spell is consumed because that’s how it works in vanilla. However, I think I can add an option to keep the spellbook.

I may be late, but Eat Spell Tome: You can control to keep the spell tome after learning a spell. from the modpage description got me confused aswell because there is no such option in the MCM.
Apparently though there is an option in the settings.ini that you can set for this function to work as advertised: bEatSpellTome=0

Hi Guys and Girls, I just wanted to share this with everyone who is "interested". If you happen to be using mods that offer ALTERNATIVE ways of learning spells (such as  Dino Spell Discovery or  Spell Research or Spell-forge) and you are looking for a way to completely make it IMPOSSIBLE to learn from spell tomes ...you can use this mod here Spell learning restriction and go to it's  "settings.ini" file and set the  Novice , Apprentice, Adept , Expert, Master    learning requirement SOOO HIGH to the point where your base skill would never reach that high ever in the game, (for my case, I set the requirement for every spell-school  to be base 200 even for a novice spell) . Then save the "setings.ini" file  (i opened it in notepad++). then run your game,

once the mod kicks in , you will soon discover that you can't learn from a single spell tome because your skill is too low. And in case (for whatever reason) you want to temporarily learn from a spell-tome , just go to the MCM , tone down that ridiculously high requirement for a short duration, then learn that spell and return it back up.

This effectively renders ALL spell-tomes in the game unable to learn them, forcing you to use only spells that you have personally created.

Mods like I Just Want to Sit Down and Read did changes to this script from you:  eeeSpellLearningRestrictionScript.pex
Is there any changes in this update that could make it incompatible?

    Thank you. Really cool updated.

Yes, that mod includes an old version of the script without the latest changes.

Could you add a restriction to it that player can't learn spells in combat?
