maybe a little late but check if papyrus util is in your loadorder (left pane in MO ) and is overriden by another mod. In my case it was Campfire. letting papyrus util overwrite the campfire stuff and anything else that overwrites it, should fix it

Take time to read and learn the basics to set everything up correctly before jumping in. It will save a lot of frustration later on when you're about to land the final move on Alduin after 30 min of fighting and the game crashes to desktop.
I could have missed something but I don't think this fixes the only issue i'm having:
Even if i dont have any lanterns in my inventory, the assigned hotkey will still make a lantern "noise" and the notification will read "Your lantern is nearly..." or whatever the last known level of oil/pollen was for the lantern.
Bravo...Fixed the MCM issue I was having since I just started a new playthrough (reinstall) this month after a few years. Decided to keep the AE content since SKSE was updated to support AE. This made the MCM readable again for what always has been an essential mod for me. Thank you!!!

Now how can I remove the Wearable Lanterns Spells in spell/shout menu? They re-appear everytime I load a save.

Use SSEdit to open the plugin file .esp and look under spells and simply remove the "powers" configuration.
