[...] a temporary compatibility solution is to introduce devices that emulate a regular 512-byte sector storage device but make available information about the true sector size through standard ATA and SCSI commands. As a result of this emulation, there are in essence two sector sizes that developers will need to understand:
Logical Sector: The unit that is used for logical block addressing for the media. We can also think of it as the smallest unit of write that the storage can accept. This is the "emulation".
Physical Sector: The unit for which read and write operations to the device are completed in a single operation. This is the unit of atomicwrite, and what unbuffered I/O will need to be aligned to in order to have optimal performance and reliability characteristics. [...]
I'm pretty sure your NVME SSD drive have 4096 Bytes Per Physical Sector (512-bytes emulation, internally the firmware uses 4096 bytes per sector)
Thanks so much for this! You can't imagine how happy this makes me (I couldn't either). I knew the background music was missing in my game but I had no idea how to fix it. I only got some back after I extracted the sounds.bsa and put the files as loose files in my skyrim directory. But after installing this I finally hear all background music again, vanilla and mod added. This is great :)
I came across this mod while I was trying to find out why I couldn't hear my footsteps anymore. I just wanted to fix the footsteps, but thanks to this mod I found out that there is background music in the inn.I feel as if I have had a big rock removed from my ear.It is better than any great mod.I still don't understand the detailed principles, I only downloaded it through MO2, but this solved everything.
OH YOU FREAKING LIFE SAVER! I mean hell I always knew having the game on a bigger 2tb nvme would never cause problems, but I was wrong ha-ha! thinks for this!!
Not sure how/why I didn't saw earlier this mod. It's basically fixing THE bug that ennoys me the most for years. Awesomely awesome! Thanks a million time!!! <3
Wow! I can't believe this worked! I thought I would never find a fix for my audio glitches but I'm happy to say that this did the trick. Thank you so much! I will endorse as soon as possible.
I want to kiss you right now!!! thank you so much for making this, I spent whole trying to figure out what happened with my sound But you fixed this for me, thank you again!!!!
