For anyone having difficulty using this with a controller --
I found that Oblivion Interaction Icons, which comes equipped with a patch for this, has a UseOrTake.ini file inside of it that you can edit to allow the use of the controller hotkey. Mine didn't work at all until I commented out the first "alternate action hotkey" line and then uncommented the second one. Issue fixed!
YMMV - I also have these mods installed, so try these if you're still having trouble: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/91823 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54309
is anyone else getting an issue where the alternate action is the default? For example, i might be playing for a while, go up to a food item, and when I hover over it, it's on the "eat" action instead of the default "take". Then if I press shift again, it gets unstuck and works as normal.
I'm having same issue, it mostly happens when i die and last save reloads or i reload the save manually. If anyone found solution or alternative, please tell.
Thank you for both this mod and Read or Take SE, PowerofThree!
I couldn't see in any of your mods that one need to be in first person view to interact with objects that aren't books. First I thought something where wrong with Use or Take as I didn't see any interaction prompt for items that where possible take or use. I use Better Third Person Selection (BTPS) which normally rotate around each item that can be interacted with or take action like Sit on chairs.
While in Third person view you will only have action prompt (Sit) or interact with NPC, in third person view one will not see that items can be interacted with or used/taken into inventory in this mode.
It could be useful if you made a note on front page for this mod that when using BTPS that you will need to change into first person view and now player character can interact with all object as before.
I'm on version 1_6_1170 and the mode is working perfectly for me with all of his functions. with over 268 mods including very heavily scripted ones from lovers lab. hope you guys will figure out the problem
thank you mister powerofthree for all your hard work and contribution for the community
Any solution to creating a gamepad switching option? A few months ago I was able to add this dynamic by editing the ini line, "Alternate action hotkey = 42" to "Alternate action hotkey = 42 || Alternate action hotkey = 274"
I'm using MO2 and now this ini reverts back to default and does not deposit the edited ini into the overwrite file. So, it may be a setting of MO2's I'm unaware of. Any help or advice on this would be appreciated. This mod rocks and I can't believe its not apart of the base game.
