A sporadic idea from two nights ago, turned into a reality. Please remember to read the description page for potential already asked questions. Thanks!

As always, if something is broken let me know. If you like it, show the love! and definitely feel free to upload your own screenshots!

    Version 1.43
    - Fixed incorrect formID in non-interactive .ini
    - Added option "Ignore Player". The Player will no longer be affected by Rugs
    - Added option "Enable Permanent Fixing". Holding Left Shift whilst fixing a Rug will make it permanently fixed.

    Version 1.42
    - Script Optimization: Limits the main function call to currently loaded rugs rather than checking every available rug (Interactive version)

    Version 1.41
    - Fixed incorrect rotation values on adjusted Rugs that were used as Wall Decorations
    - Added option "Ignore Wall Rugs". Ignores Rugs that have been rotated on the X Axis. For example, on Slopes or as Wall Decorations
    - Added option "Ignore Small Rugs". Ignores Rugs that have been scaled down. For example, as a table cloth

    Version 1.4
    - Cleaner implementation which swaps references instead of spawning new ones. This eliminates a bug that caused doubling of Rugs
    - Rugs that are hidden/enabled via parent are now ignored (ex: Khajiit Caravans)
    - Added rotation to increase variation of messy rugs
    - Tripping is ignored when God Mode is enabled (TGM in console)
    - Removed Blacklist.ini as it was no longer needed

MCM Menu added (MCM Helper Required)
    - Tripping Chance: Allows the user to set a tripping percentage
    - Disable in Homes: Rugs inside Vanilla & Hearthfire Homes will be ignored
    - Disable near Doors: Rugs near doors will no longer trip up the Player. This is to help prevent an activation/ragdoll combination issue that may rarely occur when button mashing
    - No Ragdolling: Instead of Ragdolling, will stagger the Player & NPC's. A requested feature, doesn't look good.
    - Auto-Rumpling: Trampling upon Rugs will automatically rumple them (randomized)
    - Movement Options: Allow the user to set what type of movement is allowed (Sneaking/Walking/Running/Sprinting)

Note: If you have Version 1.33 currently installed, it is highly recommend to uninstall that before installing 1.4, rather than overwriting. Ideally, a cleaned save or new game are recommended to avoid left over issues from 1.33

Note: If you find any references that are clipping or that you feel should be adjusted, please provide the formID and I'll look into it.

Everytime I ragdoll randomly I get mad but then I see a rumpled rug on the floor and smile

Terrific, hilarious mod, thanks! Love it! Only issue I occasionally run into is if, in the middle of straightening a rug, I also stumble. When that happens, my character locks up and I need to reload from a previous save.

Can't be remedied I'm afraid if you're fixing when in motion, your next step will trigger the trip before you actually fix it.

OK. I always save before entering a new cell, so my most previous save before this issue arises is usually quite recent. Thanks!

This is why I always stand a couple feet off the rug before straightening it.

Yeah same thing if you happen to trip right before you use a load door, your character can still move but just stays in ragdoll pose. It's actually hilarious

This mod does to my OCD what the game's spiders do to my arachnophobia. Bless you!

I'm having an issue with a very bizzare sound effect that plays every time my character slips on a rug. Does anyone know anything about this?

If you mean the ragdoll animation where you lose control of the camera, that's vanilla.

No, I mean that a really weird sound effect plays while I'm ragdolling and stops immediately when I get up. I don't know how to describe the sound, it's sort of like a loud ghostly whisper lol

Yes, I know what the sound you're talking about. It's a vanilla sound, it's not added by the mod.

I should add an empty sound file to the mod to replace it.

I'm assuming the sound you're referring to is the same one whenever you get killed or while in a ragdolled state, like in the video below.

This mod removes it by using an empty sound file. Immersive Sounds - Compendium also has the option to remove the sound in its FOMOD if you have that installed.

In some cases, JK sets vanilla rugs to disabled when adding his own, the mod should ignore those. So check that you don't have some other mod that undo's those changes.

Either way, i'll check it out sometime soon when I have the time

Hear me out... rumbled rugs under the table in the mind of Pelagius. And should one want to go the extra mile... unrumbled rugs under it once all the insanities are dealt with. :P

For those of you who want fewer rumpled rugs and a little more variety in the chance of occurrence, you can add your own condtions to the swap ini file. For example if you add "|NONE|chanceR(50)" to the end of one of the swap lines it gives that replacement a 50% chance of swap and it will be different between gaming sessions. See base object mod for more info.

Very helpful to note. It was becoming a little common to walk into a building and by pure chance every single rug was rumpled lol

oh damn!  I just deleted this mod a moment ago because I decided that the distraction of finding every rug rumpled wasn't worth it for my new play through. Came here one last time to make sure I wasn't missing anything.  @aecfxi, thank you for the bump! @Glanzer, thanks for the tip!

10/10 immersion, I just took a chunk of damage from tripping on a rug and falling down a set of stairs in response.

Hi, thanks for the great mod! Is there a way to disable the fix carpet button after it's been fixed, before it gets dented again?
It would also be cool to hear the sound of the character falling and swearing when he slips on the carpet.

There shouldn't be a fix button after you fix it, I'll check next time I go into the game

Edit: Yeah, no fix button after fixing.

Is there some way to alter the percent chance there is for a rug to be rumpled? I love this mod to death but about 70-80-% of all rugs are rumpled rather than it being a just once-in-a-while thing. Didn't see an option in my MCM but I may also be blind.

I second.  I feel like every rug I come across is rumpled.  Which don't get me wrong is vastly superior to having no rumpled rugs.  I love them so much.

Agreed this mod is absolutely amazing but having that option would make the mod perfect. Thanks!
