Wow this might be the best 3D fur I've ever seen out of all the mods that use this style for armors/animals/misc/etc by a big margin. I hope this can be expanded in the future to cover more items.
It's been succeeded by Fur Shader Armors Found that by chance thanks to Bards College Graduate's recent video linked below and her amazing mod showcases!
But yeah that mod was pretty much inspired by this as it applies the exact same process to the other armors and clothes that have fur. Might want to pin this JG1 so people know and they don't hound you for updates to this.
Jg1, I've done shell texturing and let me say. This is the absolute best example of shell texturing I have ever seen. The fur is so natural-looking. It's got flow, it doesn't have that awful layered look at all. Kudos and endorsed, my friend.
Fantastic. I've always hated the ugly green fine clothes. They're still green. But with your mod, it looks so much better. If ever the day comes that you do the fur bits on Ulfric Stormcloak's armor, I'll be one of the first in line to download and endorse.
Btw, is there any tutorial for this pipeline of fur like this? Was it baked from highpoly? How does it works? I'm more accustomed to cards. Thanks in advance.
There is no tutorial for my own method, but this one shows one way to do it. It works by adding multiple layers of 2D cross-sections to give an illusion of 3D.
In my own method I used hair particles as guides to extrude the layers. That allows the hair to fall more naturally, instead of the spiky look you get from the tutorial.
This much I figured out myself. I'm more interested in alpha itself. Each level looks like the alpha is different, but I can't understand where does this difference is stored.
Would you ever consider creating a tutorial on your method? I'm looking to use this same process for armors with fur. There's already a mod that does that specifically but it uses CBBE female bodies and I use vanilla.

Hope we will see more of this in the future. But hey, all your mods are awesome.
I did improve my tools a bit since making this, though. Might give it another shot.
Cheers mate.

Thanks for the amazing work!
