Hey there, no thank you for taking interest in the mod, and sorry for the late reply. I managed to get around checking this only today.
I made an experiment with only Bruma, Bruma City Expansion, Cathedral Weathers, Cathedral Landscapes. The result is that there is no significant amount of grass in Bruma city to justify a mod like this or a patch. In other words, if you have Bruma City Expansion you do not need this. The issue stemmed from the Bruma Landscapes having a terrain type that had rocks with grass. In vanilla this resulted in very small grass sprouts, but with grass mods, they turned into big sprouts. The author of Bruma City Expansion, however, removed those terrain types from the affected records, so that eliminates the issue at the root. :)
Thanks so much for checking it out. I'm currently starting a new modlist from scratch. As soon as I reinstall both mods, I'll take a screenshot so you can see what I mean. Thanks again, and don't worry about the delay; IRL is a bigger deal ;)
I can check it in time, but keep in mind my fix is a locational one, i.e. it addressed grass only in the Bruma city area, not elsewhere.
For a more universal fix you can try No Grassias: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35639
If the issue is endemic as you say, it may be connected to terrain types that are changed by grass mods, by, well, adding grass where there is none, or not as much, in vanilla records. No Grassias addressed specifically that.
Hey there, Ralphie. It really depends on whether they would be useful or not.
This case of Bruma and the grass was peculiar, because it was connected with how the terrain types were created and how they conflicted with most grass mods. Hopefully it will not be the same for other releases. :)
If there is some particular mod that offends, feel free to let me know and I shall check it up.
Thank you very much for making this! I had this issue myself, tried to fix it in xEdit too, but was unsuccessful, so I was very happy when I saw this mod :D

First of all, thanks for your work!
Is it possible to create a patch for Bruma - City Expansion?
It seems that your mod has some incompatibilities

These messages warm my heart. It's a honor to have made other people's games better even with just a small thing like this. Thank you so much.
