Are these for armors or weapons or both?

They can be used for anything. They aren't a replacer for the vanilla cubemaps, but they could be.

im looking for a good cubemap to go with my toussaint armor mod. The problem is the whole armor uses one cubemap so certain parts looks super shiny when other parts needs a different kind of shine. I wish I could make certain parts of a armor not use the main cubemap.... Maybe I could in nifskope or something but I dont feel like it

Has anyone tried to make them into a replacement for vanilla yet?  And if so, where can I download them?

Reflections on models in game, normally of the area you are in to fake realistic reflections.

I literally learned how shaders work last night, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. But before I make a mod with this, I wanted to check that my idea is even possible.

So my question is -- is it possible to change the way Skyrim blends normals? I want to make a super reflective sword, but I somehow get the feeling that it's not possible in this engine.

You can give it a mirror shine by making the _d texture black and the _m texture white.

This is weird, I didn't even know Skyrim's engine had cubemap support.

Very cool. I started to make panoramic cubemaps from locations in the game but it was a lot of work and I shelved it!

Lol yeah, I bet! How'd you take panoramas in Skyrim, if you don't mind me asking?

Poorly! LOL. I set FOV to 90, took an image facing north/east/south/west so I got a roughly perfect 180 coverage making sure the landmarks lined up loosely, then fixed the edges in Photoshop since they didn't have to be perfect.

    Humus the legend.
I tried converting them myself, but I..yeah, let's not go there.
Thank you very much for sharing these.

I might write up a tutorial on how to convert cubemaps using the CubeMapGen.
