I've noticed it works strangely for double-drawer tables, e.g. in Windstad Manor hallway - when I open the container, only the left drawer opens, and when I close it, the left one closes, but the right one opens and stays open. Also, I have the barrels with animated lids, which (as I just found) are a part of SMIM - would it be possible to handle them also?
After using this mod, when opening a box that needs to be unlocked, the box will not automatically open after unlocking, and you need to press E again. Removing mod can unlock and automatically open the box.
FYI for anyone else this helps. The main thing I was looking to lose the animations for were barrels, because they feel so much slower than the rest that I stop using barrels as a result.
Though the barrel animations were added by other mods rather than being from vanilla SE. This mod sped up the ones intended for, but didn't help with those as they weren't in its intent.
Figured out that Skyrim 2020 Parallax, and also Static Mesh Improvement Mod (SMIM) were both adding the barrel animations. To remove them, remove from the meshes/clutter folder the files barrel01.nif, and tgbarrel.nif, to restore the vanilla game version ones. Or you could extract the vanilla versions of those from the .bsa and load them anywhere after those.
For just an info... this doesn't work for normal skyrim, i tested in my pc, which is not a skyrim special edition... doesn't work. When I installed it all chest and burial urn changes into a red untouchable thing... like a missing meshes or something....
Meshes are handled differently in LE and SE. If you were trying to use an LE mod that contained meshes in SE, you could just extract it and run the .nif files through nif optimizer, then install it. Im not sure how it would work the other way around though
Thanks, was looking for a mod like this when I was still playing Oldrim. I play with unpaused menus so those opening animations sometimes get me killed mid combat
I did find a bug with this mod. Objectives that require the character to open a container won't trigger. For example, during the intro when you are told to search chests for equipment and a weapon, the objective never triggers after opening the chests. Fortunately there was a pull chain to open the gate which kept the quest going. I uninstalled the mod and the quest objectives worked again.
However, if there are other quests in the game that require the opening of containers, it is possible those quests could get stuck.
