This is a mod idea i've been playing around for a while but finally decided to do it. This mod is mostly a proof of concept and will get very little support. Basically, if you do an attack in low stance, then high stance, you can get a buff. It doesn't matter if its a power attack or not but you have a limited amount of time to perform a combo. This can be hard to execute if you have really long attack animations.
Each combo is 3 attacks long. You can chain them. Only the last attack gets the effect, like a real combo system. Previously it used to give you buffs. You can't modify the combo out the box as it is hard coded since I'm lazy.
Combos
Armor Shred - Low, Low, High
Attack reduce enemys armor for 50 seconds
Bleeding Strike - High, Low, High
Attack cause a bleeding effect
Armor Buff - Medium, Neutral, Medium
You gain increased armor for a few seconds
Paralyzing Strike - Neutral, Medium, Medium
Attack will paralyze the enemy for 1 second.
Refreshing Strike - High, Medium, Low
Attack will absorb stamina
It should install out the box. If not, there's an MCM menu that should work to force add the perk to the player.
If you want to improve it or change it, feel free to completely change it and you don't have to ask for permission. All I ask is that you credit me. Source is included. If anyone makes a mod for NPCs to dynamically change stances and stuff then you can probably have them do the combos too.
Optional file:
This is a version of the mod that implements things in a far more complicated manner and ugly. However, it applies the effect as a perk before the attack. This means that you can replace the animation with DAR if you want to use special animations for the final attack, or if you use a mod like Precision that extends the attack time past the initial hit frame
