Thanks for your work! She looks both pretty and interesting. I feel the same about your other NPC mods as I browse them.

Question: I have UNP. Will Tekla 'adapt' to the UNP body? Or if she keeps her own body style, will that probably work okay in my game?

Actually, same question about your others. Saadia, for instance.

(I went with UNP partly because busty NPCs aren't my taste. But your pictures of Tekla, especially the before/after one about the hair clipping where she's turned to the side, suggest that she has pleasantly ordinary proportions in any case.)

Thank you for your kind words which I appreciate very much.

Your reason for going with UNP I completely understand. We apparently share a similar taste overall (for a more athletic or natural if not normal appearance) when it comes to bust size. When I initially found out I could modify the female form using BodySlide I went nuts playing around with it to find its limits. Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer (CBBE) showed me there could indeed be a slimmer body and I started tinkering around with that. I then spent some time comparing CBBE to UNP and found that I preferred the overall contour of the female form in CBBE. Going with UNP or CBBE does affect all of the females in the game, with the exception of custom actors who have their data files stored independently from the vanilla ones. Vanilla actors can be changed in this way by mod authors and should be annotated on their mod page if that's been done.

As for Tekla's figure, I was aiming for a youthful appearance as she is the younger sister of Narri just coming of age. I have a future update planned for this mod that changes her voice entirely as I strongly dislike the vanilla one. Albeit, that update is a long way off currently.

So to answer your question, all of my girls have custom CBBE bodies that are stored on your machine in their own independent folders. Most of them have their own gear that's been fitted to their custom bodies which are also stored in subfolders under the character's name.

This way it doesn't matter that you use UNP as they will still use their own CBBE bodies alongside your UNP ones. The only time it will matter is if you have used OutfitStudio to convert vanilla clothes or armor to UNP and then try to equip them on one of my girls. Things could get ugly if not downright funky with clipping. But normal unconverted vanilla items should wear just fine.

The positive side of having experience in modding and becoming savvy in it is that you discover workarounds for things like the bust size of an NPC or follower mod you download to try out. Because with five quick and simple console commands you can change the weight of that actor to whatever you desire, as weight is what determines bust size in the game. The commands are necessary to restore the actor's custom 'facegen' file or else you'll have a really ugly CK version of that mod author's actor instead of showing all their hard work and efforts in RaceMenu to make them attractive.

This is why (for example) I included these console commands on the lengthy description tab of my latest mod Katria -

Katria's new default size is '100'. As such, 'if' her breast size is changed a small amount of clipping may occur with her clothing, mostly with the backside of her leggings. Also, fair warning ahead of time so as to not be alarmed, changing her weight 'WILL' deform her facial morphs making her appear really ugly. This is explained and fixed below using the 'recycleactor' console command.

To change breast size use the following console commands. First, click on Katria to ensure she is the current target object selected, then open the command console using the tilde key, left of the number 1 key. Then type in the following in sequence pressing enter after each entry.
      Spoiler:
      Show
      setnpcweight # (# equals a number 0 to 100)
      recycleactor
      disable
      enable
      moveto player

The following are details of what each command does:

setnpcweight # - sets the actor to the desired weight of a value from 0 to 100. This weight is stored with the NPC's RaceMenu saved morph values and in their exported sculpted head.nif. NOTE: When this command is used it 'WILL' result in deforming her facial morphs to the values stored in CK which are limited and do not have the same morphing sliders as RaceMenu morphs, so the results will be ugly. But no worries, this is fixed using the following commands.

recycleactor - for our purposes, this command resets the targeted NPC to the reference settings of their record in CK. It also restores my custom FaceGenData Morphs, thus restoring the NPC as I made her in RaceMenu. But she will still be nude at this point.

disable - tells the game to not render the selected object including actors. The actor's collision is turned off and their AI won't process and removes them from the game. For our purposes, this is done as a precursor to setting up the next step.

enable - tells the game to restore the selected object turning on its collision and AI again. For our purposes, this command also puts them back into whatever gear, clothing, or armor is set as their default outfit in CK.

moveto player - as the disable/enable commands will place the NPC at their original entry point into the game when first encountered, this command teleports them back to the player's current location.

This process works with any NPC or Follower just the same. Cheers!

Ah, wonderfully informative, thank you! Am I following the idea? Setnpcweight changes the body mass. The next three commands reset the NPC so that the change in mass will play nice with the head/face that the author crafted, but there are some side effects. And the moveto command deals with one of those side effects, bringing the NPC back to where the player is.

So does "weight" affect the whole body sorta proportionally? I'm assuming it's not specifically "breast weight"! Hmm, but images of very busty NPCs offered on Nexus don't seem to show correspondingly rotund bodies. (In fact, I can't think of any Skyrim NPCs, male or female, who are even plump. Which is a separate weird thing in itself.)

The side effects of the resetting commands... They reset the NPC to her original clothing and possessions, and to her original location? Does this erase her familiarity with the player, or would it mess up any past or future quests?

Among the mod NPC's I've collected, I reckon the bustiest is a beautiful warrior named Freya Gray-Mane from Pandorable's Heroines. Oh, when I check the mod's page, Pandorable lists the NPC's weight: 100. From the same NPC pack, Pandorable lists elf Miniel as 20 weight. I wouldn't describe Miniel as having a small bust, but signifcantly smaller than Freya's. Freya's is not unrealistic, but copious. Meanwhile, probably my slimmest (everywhere) NPC is Randi by lewbob, and I see that the description there also tells weight, which is 0, and that she uses UNP Skinny body. She too is nice-looking, but I have occasionally wondered if I should serve her some pasta.

Well, I tried out your method, experimenting on Freya Gray-Mane. It worked for me! Dropping her weight to 70 didn't make much difference, but then dropping it to 30 did. Interestingly, that big change in number yielded not a 'small' bust, but a more 'ordinary'-range one. She also seems to remember her familiarity with the player, but there were some after-effects. Not immediately but before long, she wanted to dash off to sub-follow Vilja, whom she has sub-followed before but wasn't sub-following at the time of the experiment. She also had a couple of cases of weirdness about me giving her back her belongings, which I'd taken just before the experiment.

Upshot: Then I can actually install cool-looking CBBE NPCs, and if they seem distractingly busty to me, I can do a fairly harmless adjustment in this way? I just would need to be careful that they keep their own provided clothes or use vanilla clothes?

When I began playing Skyrim last year, I installed UNP based on the bits of advice I came across. Just recently, I've been trying it switched to UNP Skinny. That seems fine too. While not as much as Randi, the default gals are slim, in a quite believable (real-looking given it's a fantasy game) way, still healthy looking.

PS: The weight-adjusted Freya Gray-Mane is now exhibiting a seam at her ankles and at her wrists. Not enough to be noticeable from a distance. The skin seems the same color, above and below; there's just a slight gap or line there.

I've installed Tekla now. She looks cool. But she has sort of a blackish stripe across her lower forehead. Any idea what I'm doing wrong that I've got that? Hmm, not exactly black--it's like the dark brown of her hair, but it doesn't look like it's part of her hair. Almost like she's wearing a bandana (below her hairline) that's the same color as her hair. (I expect that this is some problem on my end, not with the mod itself. I've seen many mentions of accidental dark face issues, over my months of playing Skyrim and checking out neat mods on Nexus; I just don't yet know how to deal with the issues. So far, I'd only gotten it with a few children in mod-added towns, which doesn't particularly bother me.)

PS: Dengeir is kinda plump, so I'm wrong about nobody being plump, grin.

Your Question - Am I following the idea? Setnpcweight changes the body mass.
My Answer - Yes, you have the right idea.

This reply was a bit longer than I realized so the rest of it is in the spoiler...
      Spoiler:
      Show
Your Question - So does "weight" affect the whole body sorta proportionally?
My Answer - Yes, it does. Those commands re-adjust everything in proportion to the weight you choose, (providing the author of the body who created it did so correctly in regards to wrists and ankle seams), but to do it CK exports what it has in its records for the actor's facegen morphs which is why the face becomes de-morphed and really ugly requiring a fix. As I explained before, Creation Kit doesn't even have a fraction of the sliders that RaceMenu has.

You Postulated - I'm assuming it's not specifically "breast weight"!
My Reply - Your assumption is correct

Your Statement - Hmm, but images of very busty NPCs offered on Nexus don't seem to show correspondingly rotund bodies. (In fact, I can't think of any Skyrim NPCs, male or female, who are even plump. Which is a separate weird thing in itself.)
My Reply - Not too weird really when you think about it. On average most guys prefer their fantasy women to look like Victoria Secret models and not too plump. I think guys as young as Johnny Eight-year-old all the way up to grumpy old-ass men like good-looking women, and some women like good-looking women too, Lol.  : )

Your Questions - The side effects of the resetting commands... They reset the NPC to her original clothing and possessions, and to her original location? Does this erase her familiarity with the player, or would it mess up any past or future quests?
My Answer - No, recycling an actor does nothing more and nothing less than what I posted about it. Think of it as only a cosmetic reset. To reset an NPCs familiarity with the player, other commands like 'setrelationshiprank' to a value from -4 (hated, sworn enemy, kill on sight) to +4 (lover), 0 is the default for being neutral.

Your comments - Among the mod NPC's I've collected, I reckon the bustiest is a beautiful warrior named Freya Gray-Mane from Pandorable's Heroines. Oh, when I check the mod's page, Pandorable lists the NPC's weight: 100. From the same NPC pack, Pandorable lists elf Miniel as 20 weight. She too is nice-looking, but I have occasionally wondered if I should serve her some pasta.
My Reply - Don't get too hung up on an actor's weight. The reason I say that is because in Skyrim weight is a subjective term all because of BodySlide. Those numbers going from 0 to 100, cover a very wide spectrum all dependent upon the person sculpting any given body. For instance, my 0 for some (not all) of the bodies I craft are truly damn near flat-chested, but my 100 weight may not even be someone else's 30 or 50 weight per'se. Normally when I craft a custom body for one of my girls I purposely create my preferred maximum at 50 weight, that way when someone downloads that particular body they have the option to see an increase in her range if they so desire. Even my Lydia runs around with a body I crafted for her set at 50 weight.

Your statements - Well, I tried out your method, experimenting on Freya Gray-Mane. It worked for me! Dropping her weight to 70 didn't make much difference, but then dropping it to 30 did. Interestingly, that big change in number yielded not a 'small' bust, but a more 'ordinary'-range one.
My Reply - I covered why this occurs in my previous reply.

Your comments - She also seems to remember her familiarity with the player, but there were some after-effects. Not immediately but before long, she wanted to dash off to sub-follow Vilja, whom she has sub-followed before but wasn't sub-following at the time of the experiment. She also had a couple of cases of weirdness about me giving her back her belongings, which I'd taken just before the experiment.
My Reply - There are a number of mods out there that can cause followers to sub-follow, but I can tell you with certainty those commands I shared with you are not causing that issue. As for the equipment thing, the 'enable' command given in the sequence right after 'disable', is what re-equips all of the initial gear they had when you first encounter them. That is just how the command works. I usually dump all the extra crap into the nearest container, and if I can't find one I create one on the spot, then disable that too, and watch it disappear.

Upshot: Then I can actually install cool-looking CBBE NPCs, and if they seem distractingly busty to me, I can do a fairly harmless adjustment in this way? I just would need to be careful that they keep their own provided clothes or use vanilla clothes?
My Reply - Correct, I do it ALL THE TIME. Because my tastes differ from little Johnny Eight-year-olds, whose into bust gals. Just be mindful of what I said at the beginning regarding other authors sculpting their bodies. If they don't pay attention to wrists and ankles, resizing them with another weight may cause a nasty visible seam.

My Reply - I don't have as much time as I used to so these days download other follower mods too much unless they are truly impressive like Ingigo. Specifically, when I can just make my own. I'm more inclined to try out NPC makeover mods instead. You might enjoy learning BodySlide, it's pretty straightforward and you come away with a body you made to your own tastes. I won't kid you though, it can be a chore if you start skinning them with different textures too as I do. Cheers!

Yeah, you will run into that from time to time. Not everyone goes the extra yard in BodySlide while sculpting a new body. You can always try hitting that actor up again with the same weight or another to see if it matters.

My Reply - For me, on my end, she looks exactly like the pictures I made of her on this mod page above. Tekla's weight is set to 0, try using recycleactor followed by the other command to see if it has any impact. And perhaps put her lower in your load order. That might help.

PS: Dengeir is kinda plump, so I'm wrong about nobody being plump, grin.
Dengeir ...what did I say about grumpy old-ass men? He ain't letting on for fear of either Narri or Valga kicking his ass, but he's sweet on her.

      About this problem:
"I've installed Tekla now. "

The bandana effect is caused by the fact that the 2 files of this mod 00013656.nif and 00013656_Tekla_RM_BAK (Data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\skyrim.esm)  have a wrong path in the "BSShaderTextureSet", the path points to Narri (textures\actors\character\Narri\brow\Brow14.dds and textures \actors\character\Narri\brow\femalebrow_n.dds) and not Tekla ((textures\actors\character\Tekla\brow\Brow14.dds and textures\actors\character\Tekla\brow\femalebrow_n.dds).
I corrected it myself with NifSkope and now it works.

Many thanks, Aragorn1975, for identifying my fubar. I'll be correcting this in an update. I didn't catch it as I have Narri installed as well, so there was no visible issue on my end as the BSShader path was being fulfilled. Kudos to you man, again thanks.

      Spoiler:

Поднимите консоль, затем выберите Теклу, щелкнув по ней. Затем введите в консоли:
      неравный 1

Посмотрите, исчезнет ли зазор в шее.

      Если нет, введите:
      setnpcweight 0

      затем введите:
      recycleactor

      тогда:
      moveto player

      и посмотрим, поможет ли это.

Unfortunately no. I've researched this in-depth and from what I've found it's not a good idea to do it with vanilla characters as it can introduce CTD issues. If you're interested to know why then read on.
      Spoiler:
      Show
SSEEdit comes with a script to find and report whether any given mod can be flagged successfully as an ESL.
The mods we’re looking for in the list that the script populates will be notated as, and only as:
"Can be turned into ESL by adding ESL flag in TES4 header"

Unfortunately, SSEEdit returned the following message report for Tekla.esp:
"Can be turned into ESL by compacting FormIDs first, then adding ESL flag in TES4 header"

Notice the difference between the two statements:
"Can be turned into ESL by adding ESL flag in TES4 header"
"Can be turned into ESL by compacting FormIDs first, then adding ESL flag in TES4 header"

Compacting Form IDs will break mods that have assets that rely on the original uncompacted Form ID. Non-exhaustive Examples:
NPC Facegen data (meshes & textures) that have their formID changed need to be renamed otherwise the dark face bug will occur.
.SEQ files need to be regenerated if the linked quest's formID changes or, the dialogue bug (dialogue missing until first reload) will appear.
Scripts using GetFormFromFile with a formID that changed need to be updated with the new formID and recompiled, or, they will break.

What this means is, DO NOT compact the Form ID's of mods that have generated FaceGenData, Scripts, or .SEQ (Dialogue) files. These would be mods like followers, DLC's, quests, animation mods, or NPC overhaul mods (like Tekla), etc.

You might be thinking, "then why are other mod authors able to make ELS of their followers or NPCs"?

Answer: Custom followers or NPCs that are new without any patches, or other mods using or affecting them ARE able to compact their FormIDs without worry as the FormIDs are newly generated. However, any mod author who takes an existing vanilla character and overhauls them and compacts the vanilla FormIDs takes a huge risk of breaking things like saved games, and other mods that rely on the original unchanged FormIDs. That's how CTD issues are introduced into the system when someone takes risks out of ignorance, or indifference.

So, it doesn't look like Tekla's mod will be getting an ESL any time soon, sorry. Hopefully, this explains it all.

As a suggestion, you could merge Tekla with any other mod as an alternative method to conserve ESP space.
