Thankyou all for your kind comments and constructive criticism's. If I don't reply directly in return to your kind comments; its not to say I don't read them and am not grateful. Its just I am a writing butterfly once I start. You'll will just end up getting a novel from me so I cut myself off but I will try to be as useful as I can for any technical inquiries. We need the space preserved for that LOL
For those wondering if you can, you can use this as a program in mod organizer by using this in the arguments section instead.
-command "$logfile = $env:USERPROFILE + '\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.log'; Get-Content $logfile -Tail 10 -Wait" ;pause assuming that your OneDrive has taken precedence of your documents. otherwise wherever your log is just replace this line with your path
$env:USERPROFILE + '\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.log'
this is how I got mine to work. just remember to add the ' ' to it after as well.
YEP. This is completely legit for MO2. No downloading of anything required for this method. This will dispaly to you on a live powershell instance everything logging within your Papyrus log. Everything. So if your papyrus log is generating stack dumps, this will show you in realtime it logging. That's all it does. I mean if you do not wish to see what is generating live in your papyrus log when you are currently playing, then you can review the actual papyrus.log in Notepad++ after you exit game to read the game generated papyrus results. All this does is simulate identically what is logging within the log as a live reference you can observe while ingame
Holy s#*!, speedy reply. Thanks a ton! So I've been told that my problem MAY be a stack dump, but I'm not really sure what that means. I managed to get papyrus.0.log working, but I can't make heads or tails of it. And if I do as a mater of fact have a stack dump as the culprit of my weird framerate jitter every 2-5 times a minute, I am unsure how to fix it.
Well, I can't really help you on that from here and not that I took your reply like thats what you were saying. Best recommendation I can make is providing you a Discord Server link EX r/skyrimmods and tons of people on there will be more then willing to assist you and I wouldnt be shy. Just spit out the details, dump some logs in a channel geared to SSE and explain whats going on. I bet you will figure it out rather fast if you joined. That's what these modding Servers are there for is for everybody to help one another out and go through the debugging journey together
Not sure how helpful this is, but the application will instantly close if the destination doesn't exist, even if the user slightly misspelled it (like I did). People might assume its just broken if they make all of the paths and see it not working, would be nice to have an error message that says it couldn't find the path C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.log. Thanks for the program!
Thanks for the comment and glad its useful for you... For the sake of simplicity, the force closing we will consider the error message and I will just add that to the description page when I get a chance. It is a smart idea. As for adding an error message directly to the shell instance, ehh, its just extra work that makes something as simple as it is unsimple prob depending what I would have to do to add such a message. Will this stop shutter i believe is papyrus making the game read? I have a heavy mod list of almost 600 mods. Everything thing works but there is a jerk like it is being snatched back in order. I think this is close, real close to being a totally functioning SuperRim lol. I went to AE and that clobbered a few mods that i really liked like MiniMap but i am 95% back to b4 the update with a crash once in a while that i think can not be fixed but i have this snatch. Fallout 4 also. Same snatch.
Forgive me. I read your message like 3 times and confused what it means. Beginning is a question but I dont know what "Shutter" is and the rest seems like different all-rounded, back/forth experiences you went through which I not sure are all about the tool here.
I just have a "Wut" bubble over my head. Maybe I need to read a few more times. Your use-case of word "Snatch", what means?
I was raised Southern, sorry. I didn't ask to go there as i was 3 when they took me there. I know its hard to read. I have a skip or whatever you would call it. Like at the end of your gif or little video of the guy.
But I don't understand what a "Skip" means.... Are you using the word "Skip" now as a replacement of "Snatch" per the first message... I just don't understand what the utility is doing. What a skip/snatch looks like with the tool running
I'm sorry. With a gif or video recording your PowerShell window, maybe I can get a better understanding of what skip/snatch looks like.... It's hard to understand what those words look like without a visual representation. Maybe then I can be more of an assistance to what your experiencing and help you out
I think this might be a problem on my side because the shorcut open and automaticly close. I use Mo2 and made sure log is enabled in my custom profile and theres indeed a papyrus log in my logs/script in document working. My Powershell also work when i open it. I think what might be cause the issues is the fact that my documents and my game is not on the same disk as powershell? My document are on D drive and my Game on E drive Any ideas?
Just happened to be on Nexus and I saw the notification of your message. Ensure that you do not use this shortcut from within a mod manager as disclaimed on the Desc. Page. I could not figure out how to get it to work launched from within a manager. Launch it standalone from anywhere else (incase you were doing this)
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.logIs the default path the logs generate. I didn't even know you could configure the game to produce the log elsewhere then on the C Drive. I guess it would have to if the C Drive is not being used but I thought that wasn't a possibility either. Not sure but I thought Windows enforced the use C as a drive.....
Anyways, if your logs are generating on D drive; then you would need to edit the condition to point down that address to the logs like so: C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -command "D:\Users\USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.log'; Get-Content $logfile -Tail 10 -Wait"This is also assuming your Windows OS is on the C Drive for the powershell You will need to substitute your Username in the condition above D:\Users\USERNAME\ Try that. I have never tested anything other then the default condition. It could be wrong condition I am advising you to try (above) but it might also be the recipe. Let me know if it works
Can this show Debug.Trace messages from papyrus scripts? Not really expert on this topic? Since i can't get the Papyrus Debugger Extension to work i was thinking could this be another option?
Its not entirely just that. I think its also because its outside of Mod manager use this tool. Mod Managers (or well I know Mod Organizer 2) reminds the end-user to "Endorse" or "Don't Endorse" the mod... This is used outside of Mod Manager management hense they are not reminded to endorse. Major majority of folk download it manually and never return to the page (unless they come to check if there is an update)... They need to return to Endorse
That's just my 2 cents what and why I think the reason is.
wow I think I may be able to find my issue with 'Religion' mod using this was having an issue where after leaving prayer, it would permanently put a script on that disabled player controls on last kill of enemy for a group lmfao
