I'm so hoping to get XAS to work in a custom mod as I've been trying to figure out how to do an alternate start of my own for a few weeks (I'm super new to modding).
I've been through the text file and I feel like I hit all of the points for the first (full cell) instruction set. I end up with my esp, my custom script pex in s/scripts and xasadvance pex in the same location. It seems like no matter what, when I test it I get the vanilla cart start.
Is this anywhere close to right? ChantStartMarker as a value of the RefID for my xmarkerheading.

I've been using Live Another Life since the beginning and never even looked for a different alternate start mod. After trying this mod it's definitely my go to alternate start mod. Really love it. I was a bit disappointed to see that nobody else has added more options to work with this like many have with LAL as it seems perfect for expansion.

If you still developing this, i love this mod better than the other because no hassle, i want: -A separate mod to disable Blood on the Ice (the most glitchy, unintuitive, and messy mod in the game) in the same manner as the Hjerim start, so that it compatible with others. To detect completion, there'll be a trigger active in the graveyard where after it is interacted, instantly completing the quest. It's a will for the ownership of Hjerim. -An "ultralite" mod that only have one door leading to the aftermath of Helgen burning start
Hello! Version 1.1 seems to now be form 43 where 1.0 does not have the issue. I am aware that forms can be changed via CK but just wanted to let you know since there is a discrepancy between versions.
Have not tested. For now, XAS disables all entrances to Helgen Keep due to all the triggers inside that are related to Unbound. This may make it incompatible.
Do the entrances enable again at any stage or remain permanently disabled? - I have one follower mod that spawns inside the Keep. I can easily edit that mod to make them spawn elsewhere.
If you could find a way to disable all the Unbound triggers like ASLAL and Skyrim Unbound (Reborn) do, and unlock Helgen, I would definitely love to switch to this mod. I was actually just looking for something like this just yesterday.
I like this mods ideas and goals but the starting location selection leaves something to be desired. The hold shields do help, but the door labyrinth is too much for me to be able to easily recommend this one. If you could implement quickmenu or a dialogue selector and just port the door in front of me, this would be an easier recommend.
Great timesaver for those who like the vanilla start but want to bypass all the scripted stuff. Really enjoying this mod.
[Edit: After two weeks on this playthrough, about the only bug I've found is that, after getting Thanehood from Balgruuf, Helgen keep is still blocked off. Also, all the ruined buildings are empty. The bed, tables, etc. are gone, along with the Mead with Juniper Berry. Not a big deal, but worth noting for packrats who collect everything.]
[Edit edit: Some mods which add items to player inventory (like Drunkzealot's weapons/armor mod, which adds like fifty books with crafting recipes or NPC Clothes Changer and Maintainer SSE, which adds a "fashion designer" ring, or My Home is Your Home, which adds a "Book of Homies") won't add them with this mod enabled. You have to add those items via console.]
Owww.... Random Alternate Start adds them in the beginning chamber of mists, but RAS has issues too. There is a good chance the game softlocks by putting you inside Hillgrund's tomb, which can only be entered by a key.
