Plot Armor Twist: Found the Homestead. Morthal guards beat me there, but no bandit bodies anywhere. Doors were locked. Came back after a couple of days. No guards and no bandits. Picked the lock on one of the doors went inside where the fighting began. Killed all the bandits that agro'd on me character. Found the one in the basement that was/is supposed to be there. Seems to be working at this point.
Like your mod. Thank you. I've got a problem with the quest in the cave: I cannot save the game there. Is this intentionally? I push the save button, and are able to continue the game, but no "saves" are shown in the save Lists.
Same here, saves in the cave do not show up in the list of games to load. Too bad. Seemed promising. But I am glad to learn it was not some kind of intentionally implemented limitation.
EDIT: Actually. I cannot load saves made in any areas added by this mod.
Yeah, sorry, that's due to how I named the Cell Editor IDs. I only figured it out about a year ago. From the 'Known Issues' section:
You may encounter an issue saving in the dungeon, as per the issue outlined here. Back when I first made the mod, I didn't know to not put underscores in Cell Editor IDs. If you save in the dungeon, you can still access that save from the main menu, it just won't appear under your current character's name/list of saves. Saving in the house works fine.
Edit: I just double-checked all the Cell Editor IDs, and none of them have underscores except the aforementioned cave cells, and also the Solitude rowboat cell (I forgot about that one; I'll update the Known Issues). All other cells should save and load without issue.
Other than the cave, where else are you encountering this issue?
I was unable to see saves I made in the farmhouse, as well, unless I made some mistake on my part, such as "not saving." However, I remember being puzzled when I went to re-load a save from inside the farmhouse and there was no save. So, to reiterate, either I simply thought I had saved but had not, or inside the farmhouse had the same issue for me as inside the cave. I'm not prepared to say "I'm right and you're wrong" because my memory is as potentially goofy as the next guy's.
And no doubt the save files are still there, as you say.
thank you, great work & definitely going in my mod collection. hope this gets more recognition and appreciation cuz i loved it. pros: always wanted a house in this area and this is perfect. the only worries is that its in a notoriously dangerous swamp, but those are immediately remedied by the guards you can hire & the home upgrades. the house is very homely and cute. nice and big for a hero (or swamp witch) without being too much. the quest is very ambitious and very much appreciated. talking to the npc was enjoyable and i liked his dialogue, the quest was unique and innovative (the ropes & ladders were cool) and it was difficult enough to warrant the very large reward, which is then further balanced by the house purchase if you choose to purchase. this could be enjoyed even without the home and i think thats a great plus. excellent work.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the house, and I appreciate the kind words about the quest as well, that really does means a lot.
I'd never made a house mod before this, and I'd never made a quest or a dungeon either, so this mod was quite a learning curve and it took me quite a long while to make lol, and the kind words are really appreciated. :)
I'm so glad you're enjoying this, and thank you for taking the time to leave me such kind feedback.
I haven't used Windstad Mine, but I loaded them up together and based on a quick look it seems like it'd be fine, at least as far as cell overlap goes. The dock area added by this mod is across some water from Ustengrav, whereas it looks like the mine is on the same side of the water beside Ustegrav. I'd say probably let Windstad Mine load after Everglade in case there's any conflicts that aren't immediately obvious.
I cannot find a property on the porch even 1day after the bandit chief died. I found a quest marker on the top of the ladder, but no item there. Just marker in the air. Pls advice me where on the porch?
I'm a Floridian so obviously I had to download this mod lol. I've never been to the Everglades but it sure is beautiful in photos. Endorsed and gave you a kudos!

And hmm, weird. Nope, sorry, don't know why that is, I've never had any issue saving in the cave.

I could find it back of the column on the porch near door just when I was out of the house.
If you've renovated everything, dismantling the drafting table will complete the Homestead Repairs quest.
