Uploaded a new version of Kagrenac's Instant Fortress under Optional Files. This version has no placement restrictions. You can place it anywhere, inside cities, inside houses, dungeons, wherever. The original author felt that this was dangerous enough to make it optional versus making it the default behavior of the Fortress. I'm going to use this version in my game to see if there are truly any risks and then will probably push this to the main file as I feel users can be responsible for their own actions if they deploy the Fortress inside Dragon's Reach on top of the yarl while he sleeps.
I love this, and I love the teleport ring! I put my Fortress right on top of Kagrenzel near the back in front of the massive light sphere. From a Roleplay standpoint, and it's placement it looks like a normal part of the Fortress. And since you can only see the door to the fortress from the rock wall near Morrowind, most are not likely to notice the door. And those that do, and the fewer who can get up there (Following the lore of D&D of such a place normally being unable to be opened without owner's will.) will assume it is locked from inside and to get access, need to go inside.

Then when they trigger the Dwarven alarm light trap, if the fall thousands of feet below don't kill them, the Falmer will. This will do, until I can Reach Skuldafin and place it there.
Thank you! This is my favorite mod of all! May I ask, if it would be possible to make a version without those creepy mannequins? I know they are walking around, nothing will stop them. They haunt my dreams. :D I use a mod that removes them from the vanilla homes, but it can not affect your marvelous creation.
Stumbled across this while trying to find a decent player home that wasn't so massive I'd spend more time navigating it then traversing the map but not to small that it seems pointless if I had some followers. What makes it even better is that I can set it up if I want a home location or I can just use the ring when ever I want to enter it. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a good flow for its layout, however, with that said I still love and use it.
Wish I knew how to mod so I could make the layout (at least to me) flow better but as previously stated I still love and use it. For example switch around the bathroom for the enchanting/alchemy room, so all the crafting stations are next to each other, which would include the kitchen(add oven). And the one follower room behind the Forge area with the storage/treasure room and maybe add a few more things to it like Claw/scroll/priest mask holders and maybe a few more weapon racks, making the treasure/storage room feel more like a real treasure room rather then just a storage room? Then take the "master bedroom" and switch it with the followers room to the right of it and take all of the followers and put their beds/stuff within what was the master bedroom this way all the followers would be together. Treasure room into the bathroom, maybe with a bigger tub/pool or even make what was the alchemy room a pool instead and leave the bathroom alone but just move it to where the treasure room is? Adding a few more things here and there (planters in the entrance area, rework what I believe to be the pantry to be more useful, add cold storage or separate food storages) just to give it a more, yes the Dragonborn now lives here feel. Think lastly would be to just flip around the crafting area so that the entrance{2} leads into the forge area{5} and the kitchen{3} leads into main living area{8} where the large dining table is.
Not sure if it's a bug or not, but anytime I use the ring of return to pop into the fortress Serana gets stuck inside... She doesn't teleport back when you use the ring to return to whatever you were doing. If I leave through the front door, she follows and everything is fine. She will teleport INTO the fortress, but not OUT of it. All of the other followers I have encountered work fine in and out... Maybe Serana is just special. :-/
Just discovered it. Absolutely love it. I use farm everywhere to add hearthfire style mounds for veggies, console commands for chickens and apiary, and wood chopping block and oven
Thanks so much for bringing Kagrenacs to SE. I used it a lot in in old skyrim and found it so useful. I'm a great fan of movable player homes as I have three others on the go as well, all are useful.
Not sure if anyone will see this but if I end up recalling the home by deactivating the cube but still have followers with me that had the fortress set as their home location either via the fortress's dialogue options or a follower mod , will followers still be able to actually return to the fortress or will they wind up lost or something unless I actually have it deployed?
First of all thank you KakerMix for bringing this mod to SE! I am having an issue where I used the ring of return to enter the tower with a couple of followers and now the weird blue magic swirl animation seems to be stuck on them, repeatedly going off at least every 30 seconds or so, maybe faster. Anyone have any ideas how to clear that out, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling one of the followers and it didn't work, I really don't want to uninstall the fortress if I don't have to, any other solutions I might try?
***Update*** Turns out this was not an issue with the instant fortress. After uninstalling the fortress, the problem persisted, so I started working backwards from there on disabling/uninstalling mods. It ended up being Animated Wings Ultimate that was the culprit.

This mod allows you to teleport followers to your location at any time.

I thinks there is a magic staff which can be used although I didn't use it for some reason.
Try typing portable into Search box that will show some interesting mods.
