This has no loose files, just a .bsa (version 1.0). Doesn't the game need an .esp for bsa files to be loaded? Maybe I'm missing something. Please correct me.
Edit: Maybe I figured it out. It has the same scripts in it as iHud except the 3 scripts for the 3 bars and the iHud's .esp is supposed to load this bsa and overwrite it's original.
Doesn't it cause errors when iHud still expects these 3 scripts to be there but they are not?
I thought I answered this somewhere here before, but I'm not seeing it, either! Sorry!
I didn't change or remove any scripts. All I did was extract the bsa, remove the the bars from the ui interface from ihud, and repacked the bsa. Voila! No bar conflict with Dear Diary Dark Edition and TrueHUD bars that way. :-)
Hope that's helpful! :-D
I have never noticed any errors, though one poster here said they were getting some logging errors that they thought were from this. I've not checked it myself and it never impacted my game, so I couldn't say for sure. Seems like plenty use it error-free, as I do, so fingers crossed that continues! :-D
EDIT: Apparently it's been so long I didn't remember what I changed and got it mixed up above. Reading my previous answer down below again, I guess it WAS the three conflicting scripts from iHuhd that I removed. It's been so long. Sorry I had that confused!!!
But still no errors in gameplay that I ever experienced. Can't speak for others.
Been using this for about a year with my Dear Diary Dark Mode setup which includes Immersive Hud, True Directional Movement, and TrueHud and all works as intended. This is a great mod so thank you.
This time I'm about to build a load order which will use all of the above but without DDDM, and instead I'll be using Less Intrusive Hud II. Before I start setting it up I'm wondering if I should use this or not since Less Intrusive Hud II lets you move the various Hud elements around.
I know that like your description says you don't need this mod for iHud and TrueHud but it does simplify things which I like. Guess I'm about to find out how it all relates to Less Intrusive Hud.
Hmmm...I'm running it fine with most recent version of AE on my system. Are you also using Dear Diary Dark Mode? I basically built it for that along with True HUD and iHUD. Unless you're saying they're throwing errors but not actually impacting gameplay?
Just trying to understand to determine if it's within my limited ability to fix. Thanks!
And you can certainly manually adjust just as you mentioned. I do a lot of mod testing to get my modlist right, so I got very tired of starting new games and having to manually adjust it every time. Just didn't fit my play style! :-)
Hm, would I be able to use this with Clear UI's true hud patch and enable the player widget?
Currently the Clear UI patch only functions properly if I disable the player widget in True Hud. If I enable it, the modified health, stamina, magicka bar that clear UI re-positions remains visible. I am hoping this patch might help.
edit: I am noticing some conflicting overwriting assets with Sky Hud and Smooth Camera
You're most welcome! I like it a lot, too. Anything that makes the world feel more real without going too overboard (for example, I draw the line at not being able to see anything at all at night or in caves because the mods I tend to use make everything look more beautiful and I want to see it, darn it! lol). :-)
Could you please upload a version with only the scripts you edited or say some where which scripts were edited, in the description or a pinned comment.
SmoothCam is important to mine and probably many others, not to mention hud replacers which use SkyHud, like Dear Diary and Nordic UI. SkyHud replaces a few of iHud's scripts so knowing what is actually overwritten in comparison is relatively important, and I cant just open xEdit to see what is overwriting each other.
Good question! You're right, xEdit can't open this to check! I used Cathedral Optimizer to extract iHUD's bsa file, and then I simply removed the stamina, magicka, and health bar scripts from iHUD to remove the double bars and repackaged it. Voia! Easy patch that saves time! :-D
Dear Diary Dark Mode is definitely fully compatible and highly encouraged. I love that mod and won't play without it! :-D
I used to use SkyHUD but found it superfluous with True HUD, iHUD, and Dear Diary Dark Mode (as the relevant parts of SkyHUD are included in DD Dark Mode, which overwrites SkyHUD, from what I can tell). As such, SkyHUD SHOULD be fully compatible (please let me know if you find otherwise, and I'll take a look). :-)
This patch should definitely overwrite iHUD and SkyHUD if given the option, as should Dear Diary Dark Mode.
I haven't used Nordic UI myself, so I can't speak to that. Please try the patch when you get a moment and let me know! Happy to take a look to see if I can figure something else out if I know there's a mod it doesn't work with. :-)
I didn't care for SmoothCam when I tried it awhile back, so I can't speak to whether that's compatible, but give it a go and let me know! I'd be surprised if this small patch would impact SmoothCam, but I've been surprised before! lol :-)
Well I meant more as an example of plugins you can easily see what is overwriting what in the Forms but with code there is really no good way to compare it especially when you need to decompiling it with Champollion. You overwrite the entire bsa from ihud and there isn't any way to tell what you edited and didn't edit. SkyHud and the patch for iHud and SmoothCam edit different scripts and you can tell by simply seeing the loose files that both of them don't overwrite the same scripts and with no way to know if you may have edited one of those files you repackaged into the bsa without comparing every line of the decompiled code.
I didn't mean to offend you with my first post, and I was already testing to see if it did work without any issue which is true there wasn't a conflict that I can see from testing in game. I was just asking if you can say which files you did edit.
Oh, no offense was taken! Thank you for checking. I was trying to answer fully, as I have a tendency to do, and I've been told that sometimes that may come across differently than I intend. :-)
When I repackaged the BSA file, it was simply without the three conflicting scripts from iHUD, leaving the scripts from True HUD to take precedence in their absence. I'm not yet to the level of altering many xEdit or esp files, but I'm sure to get there eventually! :-D
My hope is that it means it won't conflict with other mods, too, but who knows in the great, wide world of modding! :-D
Thanks for letting me know it seems to be working with your mod list! That is encouraging! Please do keep me posted should that change!
I use both iHud and truehud and truehud’s settings let me have only true hud’s bars. It’s in the mcm settings. I had the same problem at first. Not sure this is necessary.
As I noted in the description, "Yes, you can use iHUD's MCM to make its three bars 0 display in transparency, but here's a quick out-of-the-box fix."
;-)
SO, yes, you can do it yourself. Or, if you're lazy like me, you can just download this patch and not make any changes. :-D
(Ok, so I guess I'm not THAT lazy, since I made the change each time I started a new game and eventually decided to build this patch so I won't have to do that anymore! LOL ;-) ).
For anyone who wants to make adjustments in either True HUD or iHUD's MCMs every time they start a new game, they can certainly do that if they prefer (as you do! :-) ).
For those like me who had two health, stamina, and magic bars when having True HUD AND iHUD installed and don't want to fiddle with an MCM every time they start a new game, this patch will fix it without having to adjust anything in any MCM. Installing this simply saves the hassle. :-) Or at least it does for me! :-)
Either way, I adjusted the language in the description to say that you can fix it in True HUD's MCM, too (I already listed that you can fix it in iHUD's MCM), but that the patch is to avoid that hassle every new game created.
I make A LOT of new games, especially to test new mods, so I made this for me and decided to share. :-D
I’m CONSTANTLY starting brand new games to test my mods while waiting for a specific mod to be updated before making my next long play through and I NEVER have to make ANY adjustments. All done in true HUD settings and all save from one new play through to the next. I’m honestly not trying to be a jerk. But making a fix for something that already works out of the box may cause problems later on down the line.
Like I said. To each their own. I made this for me because my experience is that I have to go into the MCM every game and make the same changes every time. It doesn't work out of the box for me as it does for you.
Obviously, this mod isn't for you. I made it for me, and I decided to share it because others may have similar experiences to me. And the fact that it's already had almost 100 downloads and 3 endorsements tells me I'm not alone. But I'm sure others have had your experience, too. Not sure either of us needs to defend our positions. We just have different experiences and different needs. That's what makes us two different individual humans, eh? ;-)
I made this mod for myself and decided to share it. If you don't need it, no need to stand around and question those of us that might use it (like myself) because we have different experiences and different game plays. That's what makes hubs like Nexus so great. A little something for everyone, but not one thing for absolutely everyone, I'd imagine. ;-)
***Edit On further review, I see that the True HUD MCM has a box checked that says "Hide Vanilla Bars." While this DOES hide those bars for me BEFORE I install iHUD, iHUD puts new vanilla bars back on my screen. Not sure why it works for some out of the box and not for others, but I do find it quite interesting that it does work for some, as you mentioned. Interesting. Maybe it's in part because of another mod like Dear Diary Dark Mode (which I won't play without) that some of us need a patch like this or have to adjust it every new game in the MCM? Unsure, but I know this patch does fix it completely for me. :-D Hope it helps others, too!
After some research, your scenario is indeed caused by dear diary dark mode ( i started using it recently) so...
- This patch is to fix double bars appearing when using IHUD + TRUEHUD + DD DM - Alternatively you can turn bars off by changing transparencies on IHUD's mcm - Also you can turn "the other bars" off by disabling health, stamina and magicka in the "player widget" in TRUHUD's mcm

Glad you're enjoying it. It's been a huge time-saver for me, too, for sure! :-D

May be better just to turn off the transparency in Ihud config? Just a one time simple mod config change.
