Some ENB light mods have added workarounds for this bug. These may have to be reverted depending on the method to avoid things like extremely large items in your inventory view. If the mesh simply increased the zoom it should be as easy as reverting the 'Zoom' parameter in the BSInvMarker node to the vanilla value with Nifskope.
Changelog for ELIF 1.2.0:
Added particle system based ENB lights to the fix
Added gamepad rotation to the fix
ELIF version for older exe's has been renamed to "Legacy" to avoid confusion. Both versions have and had feature parity
For all the people that somehow got this far into modding and would rather yell at a random mod dev instead of googling nifskope, here's what the sticky means. Download nifskope from its github. Open it and click file -> open. Point it to whatever .nif file in your setup is too big in the inventory.
Expand the top level node. The BSInvMarker should be the top or near the top of the other nodes. Select it.
In the details of the BSInvMarker double click the zoom value and set it to 1. This should be all that is needed to make it work right with this mod. Click save. If nifskope throws an error about sanitizing names it can be safely ignored. If somebody else has more knowledge about that error feel free to correct me, but I've never had issues with it.
Thank you for the great explanation. Would you mind helping me with the following problem? When I change the zoom value to 1, the items in my inventory are still large and the value is reset to the wrong value. I do save after editing every item. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Update: I found my mistake at last. I found that you need to click out of the zoom value field once and then save the changes. It won't save the new value otherwise.
I'm having a similar issue to this with the insect jars. Even without any mods relating to them enabled. I don't use ENBs so I don't know what's causing it. Would this help or is there another solution? Edit: Nope. Didn't work. Seems to be just an issue with the game itself.
FOR THOSE WONDERING HOW TO FIX THE ZOOM FOR ENB LIGHT ITEMS IN THEIR INVENTORY
- Install Nifskope - Open Nifskope with your Mod Manager (MO2 recommended) - Go to "File" then "Open" - Open the .nif of the item that is getting the bug - Click on the little arrow next to "0 BSFadeNode" - Click on "BSInvMarker" - In the window below change the Zoom Parameter to "0.500000" (This is the vanilla value, you can put an higher parameter if you want the item to be bigger) - Save with CTRL + S
-You're done ! and unfortunately....yes..... you'll have to do this with every ENB Light models that are getting the zoom bug
Notes : - You need to click out of the zoom value field once and then save the changes - As i said, you'll have to do this with every ENB Light models that are getting the zoom bug - If the items is still big, then you have to check wich mod is editing this .nif last in your load order, and then making the change here
An easier way to change this, (with Vortex) is to find the mod that changes the .nifs, go to its staging folder and click "open with" then "open with other app", find the folder that has Nifskope and open with Nifskope.
The follow the steps described above and voila!
This way you have the folder opened and know exactly which .nifs you have tackled for more overview.
I liked this mod and didn't change my mind about how useful it is bc it's indeed not the author's fault that some enb lights have different issues. However, as someone who have more than 30 mods with enb lights, it's a nightmare to fix them all manually, especially for someone like me who only heard about nifscope :/ Guess i have to disable this one bc it's hard to see items, but as i said, it's not Kitsuune's fault at all, so don't be mean to them I hope one day it will be an autoscript that detects and fixes things like this :3
I was on the same boat. Well, after putting it off for what seemed like months now, I finally went around and did it. It was easier than I thought, took 5 minutes to track them all!
For anyone reading: The trick is to set nif files to open with nifskope in windows, so you can quickly doubleclick the nif to open it, set the damn zoom to 1 in the "1 BSInvMarker" which you see when you click on "0 BSFadeNode", then save.
Track down the nif files in their folders from the offending mods you see in-game
On the sticky post about how to use NifSkope. I am trying to do that, but when I click FILE and OPEN or BROWSE ARCHIVE nothing that I can open shows up. There are no files that I can load with the program. Any help would be appreciated.
I mean no disrespect, mods like this are free and I'm always happy and grateful for people taking their time to share...but it's a bit of a hard pill to swallow when a mod that fixes something causes another issue in the same realm, albeit less consistently...
Yeah, I'm sorry, ''DefinitelyNotNoah'', but I'm not going to go through every single mesh of every single ENB item I have just so this mod functions properly. A mod that ''fixes'' an issue by introducing a whole nother issue is problematic and should be fixed.
Just ran into this issue. Still not sure if this mod is worth using honestly with the super duper sized stuff. It's better to have items that are hard to see then items way too big
