I seem to remember that the monk asks for some time to think it over. When you get back to him, he says something about his findings and you can get the related subquests. But it's been a while and my memory might fail me.
Yes I already started the quest itself to find the crystals.
My issue I'm thinking is that I spoke to Audmund and "got" the quest without it triggering, before speaking to the monk about his quest where he tells you about the different locations to go.
So I had a look and the two mods are indeed not compatible -- description updated. Making them compatible would require too much work and I can't really be bothered.

I spoke to him before speaking to Brother Arnand and starting the "Dreams in Oblivion" questline.
I can go to the cave where the cow is supposed to be, and neither it nor the crystal shard are there.

So I believe that your mod may have a conflict with Comprehensive Falskaar Fixes.

Maybe the thing has Stockholm syndrome?
But slaughtering necros is a well-known therapeutic gimmick guaranteed to cure any syndrome :)
