Why is the Dragonborn the only character actively looking for marriage in the entire Skyrim? With this mod, NPCs might now be wearing an amulet of Mara, allowing you to ask them out following the Nord tradition.
One of the voicetypes was missing one of the audios. Asking Marcurio out could result in a voiceless response. Well, no more!
Version 2.02
Small set of changes. Safe to update mid-game.
Made it so followers and your current husbando/waifu don't get a new Amulet of Mara. They're exempted from the 25% chance of receiving one. Yes, your wife won't look for fun on the side anymore. No open marriages in Skyrim! At least not caused by this mod. No, I'm not making oMarriages any time soon, sorry lol.
Fixed a typo in the courier dialogue.
Version 2.01
Updated to work with SPID 6.0+
Safe to update mid-game. Just the ini file has changed.
Version 2.0
Safe to update.

Nords no longer require to first learn about the Nord marriage tradition to get married. They already know. You can still talk to Maramal about it if you want though.
Other races can learn about the marriage tradition without having to go to Riften personally to talk to Maramal. When you see the courier doing his rounds, ask him if he has any interesting phamplets to hand out lately. The note explains the Nord custom. Or you can still talk to Maramal and do it the old way.
In vanilla, you can continue asking people to marry you after you've agreed to marry someone else. This is... weird. In vanilla, the last person you propose to will be the person that shows up at the wedding. How did everyone else learn you did NOT want to marry them in the end, if you never talked to them and told them? Lol. I've changed it so once you get bethroded to someone, you must first talk to them and tell them you've changed your mind before you can propose to someone else. Since it's quite early in the process, they will be disappointed but not too pissed about it.
The option to cancel the proposal will still work, as long as you don't talk to Maramal and get a date for the wedding. At this stage, it will be too late to cancel your wedding. You can however still say "NO" during the ceremony (like in vanilla.)
If your better half dies at any point between the proposal and the wedding, you will be allowed to propose again. In vanilla, if they die, that's it. You're out of luck.
If the wedding is already organized and your spouse-to-be dies, you will now need to let Maramal know that the wedding cannot take place, as your bethroded has died. This will allow you to propose to someone else again. In vanilla if the wedding is already organized and your bethroded dies, you cannot get married again.
Version 1.0
Release
There's a chance for NPCs that WANT to get married to be carrying an Amulet of Mara. You can ask them out if this is the case and you know about the Nord tradition.
Kudos to the person that came up with the idea: fat_mothra
If it's a Nord tradition, dear Bethesda, why is our character the ONLY ONE following the tradition? Is no one else in Skyrim actively looking for marriage?! Is it all lies and Maramal just scammed 200 Gold out of me?I fixed these issues by making NPCs also be on tinder on the lookout for a husband or wife.
I thought this was an easy one, so why not.
Features:
NPCs in the marriage faction (those you can "propose to" when you are wearing an Amulet of Mara) have a 25% chance to be equipped with an amulet of Mara themselves, thanks to SPID dark magic.
If the NPC in question is wearing an amulet and they're friendly towards you, then you can ask them out, no need to buy an Amulet yourself, following the Nord tradition.
Simple and to the point. It does not edit the marriage quest, but I've added a more fitting dialogue option for these cases. Your character will say: "Is that an Amulet of Mara? Are you... interested in me?" and vanilla dialogue will follow.
2.0 Update: No need to go speak to Maramal to learn the Nord marriage tradition: Nords will already know this from the start. Other races can get a pamphlet from your local courier to get the info they need without having to travel to Riften. Just ask the courier.
2.0 Update: Mod includes a brand new feature to cancel your engagement with NPCs. Just let them know you've changed your mind and choose someone else! In vanilla this happens unimmersively in the background :(
2.0 Update: If your better half dies before the wedding, the marriage system will no longer lock you out of a wedding, unlike in vanilla. You can now tell Maramal the bad news and you can find yourself another waifu or husbando. All voiced, of course.

FAQ
- Can I customize the chance of them having an amulet? If 25% chance is not enough, you can increase or decrease the chance of marriage candidates from having the amulet just by editing the ini file included in my mod. Changing where it says 25 to 100 will give all marriage candidates an amulet, for example.
- ESL marked? Yes.
- Does this modify outfits? No, it's done via SPID + spell that equips the amulet.
- But I'm a male, will the dialogue show up with male marriage candidates if they are wearing an amulet and I'm not? I better not see this question or I'll be pissed. I think we already went through this a couple of months ago. The answer is yes, as per vanilla behaviour. If you are SO insecure that you have a problem with this, please go away and never download any of my mods. It's a dialogue option. You choose it or you don't. Bye.
