I had an old "no loadscreen smoke mod" from LE I had converted to SE that worked for years until the update to ENB that was made recently. I then downloaded the newer "no loadscreen smoke for enb" mod that claimed to fix it but didn't (at least for me). This did work. Thank you!
I don't know why, but the other mods that modify the mesh did not work for me. After spending way too much time making sure those meshes were getting loaded, there were no conflicts, etc. I found this and tried it. Bam, no smoke. Finally. Thank you so much for this. Endorsed.
From the description "If you don't care about this or don't use any ENB post-processing, you should use Loading Screen Smoke Removed, which just removes the mesh entirely."
There's also this one that's specifically made for ENB too, wonder if there's a difference or any benefit over these 2.
EDIT: Just downloaded and compared the one I listed with this one. The one I listed has an edited intmenufogparticles.nif mesh file, the one from this mod has an edited fxsteamthinanim.dds texture. No harm in testing both since those types of files can't really affect your saves.
I didn't know about Menu and Load Smoke Removed for ENB, but it's probably the better solution as you don't have to worry about the texture being used by other meshes. There shouldn't be much of a difference between these mods though.
