First of all, I'm in love with this design (with wings) and super grateful that you brought it to us. I have been using it all the time with no problem. But I have noticed that, although the model changes, there is a stain in a part of the Helm when I make the Gold and Silver versions of aMidianBorn Content Addon. Some that I had half forgotten until this wonderful mod came out: Ebony Armors and Weapons Retexture SE I no longer ask if you can do something. Rather in case I can touch something to solve it, I don't have much idea, but I don't like making requests after publication time. Thanks in advance
Can you please provide a screenshot of the stain? I havent used Ebony Armors and Weapons Retexture SE yet but i'll have a look after I have a look at the screenshot.
Here the 3 As you can see, the Original is perfect. For the Gold and Silver versions, what I tell you happens. If you need a better capture, I'll do them in a moment.
I've spent a bit of time investigating the problem and it is much bigger than I was expecting. Fixing the actual problem will take a very long time, which unfortunately I don't have at this stage and I don't have much knowledge on.
Do you know how to use SSEEdit? If you do, I can provide a temporary solution.
I have used the tool to create some patches. But I'm not afraid to try if you tell me there is a temporary solution. At least try it. So when you have time, I'll be happy to give it a try
Oh, that's good that you know SSEEDIT! There's basically a few solutions but heres the one for SSEEDIT:
Spoiler:
Show
1. I would first create a backup of aMidianBorn_ContentAddonLight.esp 2. Open up aMidianBorn_ContentAddonLight.esp in SSEEDIT 3. Go to Texture Set 4. You will need to modify the texture paths for the male ebony helmets (Ebony_Gold_HelmetM_AMB) and (Ebony_Silver_HelmetM_AMB) to the female helmets.
So basically, if you open up "Ebony_Gold_HelmetM_AMB" texture set, you will see the following texture paths: TX00 - Diffuse: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\m\ebonyarmorhelmetM.dds TX01 - Normal/Gloss: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\m\ebonyarmorhelmetM_n.dds TX02 - Environment Mask: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\m\ebonyarmorhelmetM_m.dds TX03 - Environment: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\chitin_e_ebony.dds
Change the male gold helmet it to the following TX00 - Diffuse: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\f\ebonyarmorhelmetF.dds TX01 - Normal/Gloss: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\f\ebonyarmorhelmetF_n.dds TX02 - Environment Mask: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\f\ebonyarmorhelmetF_m.dds TX03 - Environment: AMB Variants\armor\ebonyvariants\ebonyGold\chitin_e_ebony.dds
Do the same thing for the silver version.
Why? Because after investigating, I think the original mod creator used the female helmet and modified the shape of it for both males and females. So the helmet uses the female textures for both males and females.
The other solution if you don't want to use SSEEDIT is to create folders in this mod's directory and make it same as aMidianborn, but you can only have 1 texture active.
2. Copy and paste the female textures from aMidianborn - Book of Silence into the "m" folder you just created. 3. Rename the four textures you copied. Replace the "f" with "m".
You will need to extract the .bsa file. I use BAE Extractor
I hope these instructions make sense. I will try my best to create a more permanent solution if and when I am able to.
It worked! It is true that in the miniature, as the Vanilla model continues to appear, the textures are moved, but the important thing is that it is solved and the texture is clean in the new Helm.
I'm assuming you're using the Replacer version? If so, that is showing the standard ebony helmet in the inventory menu. I could update it if people want me to.
A standalone would be very appreciated due to my and probably other people's use of improved closed faced helmets. Either way thank you for what you have done already. Very integral mod for me.
Just uploaded the Standalone version. Would love for people to try it out and let me know if it works fine. In my testing, it works perfectly. It's my first time trying out the whole ESL flagging thing (let alone making a mod standalone. I'm not that experienced with Skyrim modding).
Unfortunately not. Because "Improved closefaced Helmets" replaces all Vanilla helmets (including Ebony). This mod replaces the vanilla ebony helmet as well. However, You can let this mod overwrite the Ebony helmet from "Improved closefaced Helmets" mod if you really wanted to use this mod.
"Knight Armor-Ebony Armor Edition" should also be compatible except the "Better Looking Ebony Helmet" file because that file replaces the vanilla Ebony helmet (this mod does the same thing).

Really Thanks
Did the same here and it worked (used the non-xedit method).
How can I fix the miniature in the inventory menu now?
Thanks!
Seconded this request
