I hope this does the trick. I bought the AE upgrade like a week ago, tried it out now and I really feel scammed. That was the last time I bought anything from Bethesda. Thanks for fixing these ridicilous debuffs. I don't care if anyone says "lore firendly", this is obviously Pelinal Whitestrake armor who was responsible for the worst of war crimes, so whoever decided to build in these limitations... i won't say anything further, or I'll get banned.
What this mod should've done too was provide a fix on the Pilgrim's Path quest that keeps attacking bandits , forsworn , dragons , drugar , vampires and other enemies from being counted as assault.
It's literally lore breaking that it counts as a Sin for the Dragonborn to defend herself while everyone else on the game gets a free pass.
Pelinal Whitestrake in the lore: *so wantonly killed elves that he even massacred khajiit mistaking them for elves* Divine Crusader creation: "Oopsy daisy, you killed a deer, that counts as assault. Now go do the Pilgrim's Path again."
I'm at a complete loss. I installed the mod, now I don't get the pilgrimage quest, but I still get the debuffs. Just equipping the goddamn shield without doing anything immediately triggers the debuff. Sometimes the weapons trigger it, sometimes they don't.
Thank you so much for this Mod! I am using the ported Xbox version for my playthrough on Series X and this mod is so needed to use this awesome armor set. This mod and the Divergence Divine Armor 1K texture mod make this armor my favorite.
Can you explain EXACTLY what to do with this file, in order to install it manually and make it work?
Like, which folder should it be put in, where do I even find that folder, and what exact steps do you take?
It appears to come in a "Scripts" folder. I looked for a folder of similar name in-game but there does not appear to be one. I wondered about the "Data" folder, but there is literally no other file in there with the ".pex" suffix, they are all either ".bsa" or ".esp", so this does not look like the right place.
Assuming a Steam installation in which most of my (very few) mods have been downloaded through the "Mods" menu just below the "Creation Club" menu, but this one is not available by that means.
Sure, you should just extract the Scripts folder and drop that into the Data folder.
<Steam path>/SteamApps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/Data/Scripts/(.pex file)
This folder isn't used by default so it may not be created for you, that's okay. The reason you don't see the old script or other .pex files are because they are archived into the .BA2 file from the parent mod. Loose files will overwrite archived files, so by creating the Script folder and placing this script in there, it will overwrite the default script which is archived in the Divine Crusader CC mod.
This mod does not use a plugin it is just a loose script so it will not appear in the mods menu. As long as you have it installed and enabled through a mod manager or you have placed it directly into your game folder you should be good to go.
Thank you! This is an easy fix for a completely awful broken part of the game, and it works. That "you committed a crime and are unworthy" was driving me nuts. How dare I kill a dragon or vampire in Skyrim? So un-crusaderlike. 🙄
If a player is roleplaying-focused enough to care about being worthy of the armor, they can self-police, so this doesn't have to break any immersion.

Hope that helps!
