About this mod

Power Attack Plus AE makes combat more engaging and keeps lower level nuisance enemies relevant. No scripts! Compatible with Wildcat! Imperious and Requiem versions! Should work with other combat mods that do not make changes to races.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Works with Wildcat!
Versions for Imperious and Requiem in the files section!
No scripts!

The short version:

This mod adds damage that ignores all defense to power attacks that are not blocked or warded against. Blocking prevents the extra damage and using a ward spell prevents the extra damage. If the attacker's stamina is too low, no extra damage will be applied. This adds challenge without needing to flood the game with extra spawns.

This does NOT apply to hand to hand attacks.

There is also a knockdown chance when the defender's stamina gets too low. The attacker needs enough stamina to preform the knockdown. You can be knocked down even when blocking or using a ward if the stamina conditions are met. These vary from race to race to keep the knockdowns from happening too often. These changes apply to the player and most of the enemies in the game.

100% passive. You just need to fight smarter.

Compatible with mods that do not change races. See files for Imperious and Requiem versions.

Requirements:
A new game due to race changes.
All versions require USSEP
Requiem version requires Requiem
There is a test file for SE Requiem users.
Imperious version requires Imperious
The USSEP version works with Morningstar
Also, very highly recommended Faster get up animation

So what's different from the original Power Attack Plus?
- Updated to include AE content.
- Dual wielding power attacks have been balanced.
- Dragons and Giants are no longer immune to the extra damage.

The long version:

I love playing a heavily modded Skyrim. No matter what though, lower level enemies quickly become nothing more than a nuisance. How many times have you walked into a full bandit camp and just laughed as they tried to get your health below 99%? Then you slowly kill them without a worry in the world. Well not anymore! Sure, your the Dragonborn, but you shouldn't become invincible at any level.

The idea for this came to me when two bandits surprise attacked me on the road. Requiem adds great advanced AI so they came at me from the front and the back, both with power attacks and I bashed the one in front then quickly turned and blocked the rear attacker. I then killed him and turned just in time to block the first bandit and then kill him. It was awesome, but I knew I was really in no danger because my defense was so high. This mods adds the needed danger.

How you ask? It adds damage that ignores defense to unblocked/unwarded power attacks with a chance of a knockdown when certain stamina requirements are met. Stronger and larger races do more damage and have a greater chance of knocking you down. Of the humanoid races, Orcs do the most damage while Khajiit, Altmer and Bretons do the least. Low stamina will prevent the extra damage from being applied to the power attack. I will put the specifics in a spoiler. I know many of us like to discover new things and be surprised! I did my best to make it feel realistic. For example, does it seem right that any humanoid could simply block a massive dragon bite or the swing of a giant's club? Sure you can mitigate the damage, but your not gonna stop that wrecking ball momentum with your shield or ward spell.

Here are the damage details:
